This is a Superman movie I want to see. The Death of Superman is the first part of comics greatest trilogy, and I would absolutely trust Timm with this kind of project, after seeing what he did with the DCAU.

One to ponder; would Timm & co fit the entire Death & Return arc into one movie, or possibly two or three?

The Death of Superman, ending with Supes and Doomsday lying dead in Metropolis, is itself no more than 25 minutes of story anyway, so if that happens in the first act, the second is all the new Supermen showing up and the destruction of Coast City, and the third act begins with the real Superman returning and the battle with Mogul and Cyborg....yeah, could be one movie. And what a movie.....!

So, for everyone who was bolstering SR as the return of the man in tights...how do you feel now? I don't mean that in a mean way, that's an honest question. I like the premise of The Death of, but I always felt with a bit of cleanup SL would have been a great script. Anyways, if the rumor mill is truly producing a kernel of truth many naysayers to SR may have something to chew on.

They showed that bloody DoS \S/, so it's most likely true. And apparently DC confirmed it later today.

I'm excited. I'm glad DC is FINALLY stepping to the plate with some DTVs. They have been lacking in this area for quite awhile. It seems like once they stopped making Batman DTVs, they just threw their hands up and said no more.

I really liked Hereafter, but I wouldn't mind another DoS story. As long as Supes comes back in the end than it's all good. I'm wondering though if this DTV is a prelude to introduce kids and younger member of the GA to Doomsday.

It's almost like they are trying to "re-introduce" the character. It makes me think this could be a preemptive strike for the villian in the possible sequel.

This will not be in continuity or in style with the Timmverse. He basically blanketed his entire statement at SDCC by saying that he wouldn't be revisiting that "universe" in the foreseeable future. He didn't completely rule it out, but he was clear that the designs are going to be different.

The design, according to the DC panel, is going to be more reminscient of the comic design. Now...the current comic design sort of looks like SR doesn't it? So, I'm guessing we may see a 3-D at least.

I'm sure we will see some concept art soon and that will give us a good idea of where they are going. However, Timm was clear that it's not going to look like or be in continuity with STAS (he may throw in some nods here and there though), so I think it may look very different than what we are used to. Yet, I don't think it's going to be totally in line with SR. Just look at The Batman. That certainly doesn't look anything like BB.

I'm excited that Timm is involved, and supposedly Capizzi is in the game too and I think he needs to rebound after BA because that wasn't so great.

The design might be very similar to UA...it's possible and I for one am looking forward to it. Don't get me wrong, I love STAS' Supes and JL season two/JLU (I HATE season one JL Supes) Supes, but I think it's time to go forward with a new style and new universe. Also...GOOD GRIEF!!!! The art for Legion of Superheroes looks like ass crack. It doesn't look well moving and the premise sounds asinine, so again Timm may be the DCAU's only hope for continued survival.

I was happy to hear that he is still working with WB/DC...let that relationship continue on until the end of time.

It won't be in continuity with STAS or JL/JLU. It's another Brainiac Attacks type continuity. Though...you know the fanboys will try to fit it in

So acording to Attack of the Show, there will be 3 new DC comics dvds next year. The Death of Superman, which they called Superman: Doomsday, or something like that, New Frontier, and a Teen Titans one as well. They also said the movies would have a PG13 rating. Looks promising...
