Timothy Olyphant (Hitman, Live Free or Die Hard) will topline A Perfect Getaway for Relativity Media. Variety says MGM will distribute the action-thriller.

David Twohy (The Fugitive) has signed on to direct from a screenplay he wrote. The story centers on a newlywed couple who encounter two strange hikers.

Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh is producing alongside Tucker Tooley and Robbie Brener. John Davis, Bill Block and Kimberly Fox are executive producing.

The project starts shooting March 17 in Puerto Rico.

I thought this was the movie version of the game.

This sounds familiar, like based on actual events.
I know something like this went down in VA Beach. Okay, there was no getaway in that case. :csad:

Steve Zahn will star in writer-director David Twohy's action thriller A Perfect Getaway for Relativity Media, says The Hollywood Reporter. MGM is distributing.

Zahn joins the previously announced Timothy Olyphant in the feature, which revolves around two newlyweds on their honeymoon in Hawaii who run into two hikers who turn out to be vicious killers.

Twohy wrote the script.

Zahn is part of the honeymooning couple; Olyphant is one of the killers. Production begins March 31 in Puerto Rico and Hawaii.

I can't stand Olyphant... he was terrible in Die Hard... most annoying villain ever... and Hitman was awful... he's got a lot of work to do before he earns my respect.... he was decent in the Girl Next Door though.

I disliked him as Hitman as well, but I don't think he's that bad of an actor. I'll wait and feel this one out. Hopefully the teaser trailer doesn't play too much into the stereotype.

I take it you've never watched 'Deadwood'.

First Look at Milla Jovovich in Perfect Getaway

A rather big update from writer-director David Twohy about his latest thriller A Perfect Getaway...

The film - starring Timothy Olyphant, Milla Jovovich, Steve Zahn, Marley Shelton and Kiele Sanchez - was originally slated to hit theaters this week through MGM. According to Twohy, Universal has picked up the distribution rights now with the eye to give it a late-summer bow.

"Anyway, the date that works for Uni schedule is now sometime in August, possibly August 14th," he writes. "And I'll even caveat that, if only because movies frequently change release dates these days. Sometimes it's a reflection of the movie itself, sometimes it’s simply about the musical chairs that all studios play with their releases. So don't get too hung up about it. I don't.

Along with this news, he's also posted two shots of his leading ladies, Jovovich (below) and Sanchez (here). "Getaway" concerns a Hawaiian honeymoon that turns dangerous for two lovers when they discover they are being stalked by a pair of killers.

Doesn't look too shabby. I hate the CGI shots though.

I thought this was a second remake of Peckinpah's The Getaway.

Jovovich is not a very good actress imo.

The Ps work on that is terrible. Olyphant looks 20 years too young and unrecognizable (not to mention lop-sided), and they all (Zahn, especially) look plastic.

im sure theres prob a thread on this but if its more than 5pages back i dont bother lol

these sleeper films this summer have been catching me by surprise.. this one might too.

I've read about it. Frankly, it sounds awful.

worse than
Aliens in the Attic
G-Force
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

I liked Pitch Black, but I won't check it out 'til it's on dvd.

pitch black was forgettable and i hated chronicles of riddick...

It's gotten mediocre to bad reviews.

I know nothing about the plot other than the trailers but I can guess what the big twist is. So, I will pass on this.

They show a preview for this movie on USA like every thirty seconds. I'm so ****ing annoyed with this film that I refuse to see it on principle.
