Titanoboa - thirteen metres, one tonne, largest snake ever.

I don't mind snakes. Probably because I never saw one :funny:

I think this snake is really just the ancient winner of the game Snake.

Might explain this photo then.. depends if you consider the photo real or not though.

well considering there is nothing but the snake in that photo, its impossible to gauge its size...

That is true. Apparently, the guy who took it was in a helicopter about 30 or 40 feet above the ground (I beleive). It was taken in the Congo.

There is a snake in captivity that is over 50 feet long in India somewhere.

I don't think Indy would be pleased with this news.

If you turn over to the History Channel, Monster Quest is on with Giant Snakes.

Eh, snakes aren't as bad as people make them out to be. Word to the wise, though, don't drape them around your neck, it tends to make them nervous and they may try to run. If they can't run, they might bite. Best way to hold a snake is to let it coil around your arm (provided it's well fed and under 3 feet), they're more comfortable that way.

If you see one that rattles, that means their friendly and want you to pet them.

You know what's funny? Seems that a lot rattlesnake bites are on the hands of twenty to thirty somethings that were drunk at the time they were bitten. :woot:

HaHa! I'd hate to be with someone that got bit by a rattler on the ass. Someone would have to suck the poison out. I don't know what I'd do. :csad: I think there was a thread about that somewhere on here.

Sucking out the venom will only serve to poison two people, so your ass is safe.

So the sucking venom out of someone is just a myth? I thought you could do that?

As far as I know it just makes the problem worse. Venom is usually absorbed into the bloodstream fairly quickly, so even if it takes a while to absorb all of it, some will still get in.
