Did anyone in the UK pick up the Sunday Mirror? They normally have advanced film reviews

That review sounds like a troll. Not saying this because I'm biased what-so-ever, just does not sound like something a rational critic would write.

I wouldn't consider that review a troll. It reads like he's actually seen it.

During the final fight with Zod he's forced to break his neck to save some civilians. He cries out and whimpers in Lois Lane's lap.

Is this true?

Yes. I don't remember the lap part, but she was there so probably. (No idea how she got there AT ALL.)

Autonet, is MOS in your top 5 superhero films? Are the pacing/script problems you mention similar to TDKR where it's trying to tell too much in too little time? Who do you personally prefer out of Batman and Superman?

I place 2nd behind TDK. I hate Superman and I thought that there'd never be a superhero movie that'd top TDK Trilogy for me, they're my top 3. Lo and behold this movie blew my freakin mind

In top 5? Yeah I could see it there but at #5 or around there. I've never ranked them all out.

I felt that the TDKR dragged in some parts, while MoS seems more like it blazes through things, so not really the same pacing problem. Like they are the opposite of one another.

Personally I was a Batman fan first, as a kid I was all over it. I've never considered myself a diehard Superman fan as I haven't read or watched everything there is.

I think people who are Superman diehard fans will love it, but might question
the killing of Zod. Most of my complaints aren't with the story itself, just how much depth we get in certain parts.

This is your second favorite superhero movie, yet you still "hate" Superman?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the movie and giving us hope that it'll be great, but really, what the hell. How does that work?

I got one, didn't really see anything MOS related in it. They gave a short mediocre review of After Earth.

I'm sure it's possible to enjoy a film even if you have no love for the character. I actually find Iron Man (as he's portrayed in the comics and films) a bit of a jerk and never grew to like the comics at all, but I loved the films. RDJ brought him to life as someone you love to hate.

That is really fantastic to hear. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the response. So you prefer TDKR over MOS as well?

Very true. Never liked Iron Man as a character in the comics. But the first Iron Man and The Avengers I loved RDJ's take. That said the Iron Man sequels brought back everything I don't find appealing about the character.

Where would you rank Superman and Lois in the relationships category among Superhero movies?

Felt a bit rushed, but the chemistry was believable. I find the relationship in Iron Man better since it took two movies to reach the same point and Tony/Pepper had way more scenes together because it's over two movies.

You know they'll get together and it was just a matter of time (so it's not surprising). They could've held it off until MoS 2 (build up to it more) but they would've probably gotten a lot of negative backlash for that.

Thanks didn't think there would be with the embargo ending on Monday

I was actually surprised they didn't make the embargo date the 7th or 8th - people tend to chill out at weekends and that's when they catch up on reading, reviews, etc. Would have hyped the film up massively (not that it needs any help..!) for next weekend.

Nonetheless............... I'm going to be glued to Rotten Tomatoes tomorow :D

It's not a perfect site, but it does give a good general indication of public response to massive summer films like this.

Yeah I agree with that, they've been harsher with that than they were with Rises right?

Maybe they're worried about the shocking thing that happens in this film been leaked.

The embargo has been the same. Rises was 4 days before release, same with this movie.
Rises also had a twist :)

If I HATE a lead character in a film, then the experience is screwed for me. You dislike Tony Stark from the comics, but then again, that's the comic version. The film should theoretically win you over to its own version.
