No need for cynicism and snide remarks. :nono:

I'm being truthful. If i'm coming across as snide and cynical it's probably because i've been in a bad mood since I saw that 72% this morning.

the movie has 23 positive reviews and only 9 rotten. Not all of the rotten are story driven. Some people love lackluster films and dont like all the action. if it didnt have action they would still hate it. You cannot please some people. I get the sense you are way to into this movie flopping. Sorry to get your hopes up but it wont

Autonet liked the movie....

Because it was one of the most boring movies ever made

Tend to agree with this even tho it is OT.

I'm not a LOTR fan by any means. I started watching the first one a long while back in college while my obnoxious redneck roomate ranted how it was the best movie EVER..

EVER..

And 20 minutes in I was so done with it I turned it off and didn't watch the rest. I decided to give Hobbit a try because time had passed and I was curious about the 48p gimmick.

Nope. Still boring.

Anyway, back to Superman.

err,, kinda. I may catch hell for this - Fast 6 has a low 70's and I think that to be the best action movie of the year so far. I loved the crap out of that movie.

Idk - Maybe I'm just a little boy excited by excitement and explosions and good characters doing things in a script that keeps moving and keeps me guessing.

Then again... what the heck is wrong with that?

There are plenty of highly rated movies on RT that I dislike and plenty of lower rated films that I love. The Hobbit is one of them. I love the Hobbit. Gladiator has a 77 on RT one of my top 10 films.

RT lists the spoiler-filled Village Voice review as rotten, even though the author has mostly positive things to say. Heck, even the title reads:

You'll believe a man can fly -- and is mostly worth watching

There's no score given, but the review reads like a B- at worst.

Similar experience.

I hope this doesn't turn out to be a Hobbit situation.

Nothing. Nothing at all.

I agree on the LOTR trilogy, I watched them all once for my mate who was also obsessed with it, I've never been able to sit through them movies in one go since.

You can't even begin to imagine just how much I despise that miserable excuse for a 'movie'.

Different strokes. :yay:

It truly was almost frame for frame the same as the Fellowship of the Rings. Aside from the meeting with Gollum. I hope DOS is much better this December

Difference for me here is that Superman I see trailers for and I'm excited for the material.

LOTR i saw trailers and such and the buzz and was "meh" about. Something about old old old old fanasty stuff just bores me. If it's not done right I check out.

GoT, however, does it right IMO. Obsessed. lol

Regardless - Superman is punching things. Doesn't even matter that it's another character. He's punching in this movie. Already it's leaps and bounds above Superman Returns.

I'm indifferent to the Hobbit movies since I think they went too far in making the story a LOTR prequel instead of a more serious version of the Hobbit book.

The Prestige 76%. (Worst rated Nolan movie)
Cloud Atlas 67%
Licence to Kill 74%
The Hobbit 65%
Unbreakable 68%

Just to name a few.

Yeah I expected village voice to be positive and some others that turned negative on RT, It would be awesome for this movie to have a 70 RT score, yet a 7.5 or 7.4 rating. Cuz This is the End, World War Z, and Monsters U all have lower ratings, yet higher RT scores.

Who is the best character out fo the whole trilogy. :funny:

The Village Voice review seemed positive to me.

Prestige is the perfect example for me. Two of my top 10 films are below 80 on RT.

RT allows the rating posted on the site to be decided by the reviewer, irrespective of what the reviewer has given his rating in his article.

I believe that the reviewers look at other respected reviewers ratings and decide what rating should be given to RT site, even though they have written a favorable review.

Some are like sheep. :p

Not sure what this means. I would only consider one of those to be "good."

Those were in the first film already.

I'll take a victory through a flawed system over a victory outside the system. How else is there hope of changing the establishment then?

Besides it's just battling over pop culture not government.

But the first film does not have that many reviews compared to later superhero stuff.

There are over 200 reviews today while superman the movie has less.

It had more but you have to find old papers to see those reviews, but still there just more reviews today then before.

I believe if superman the movie and 2 were reviewed by those 200+ critics today it would have lower score.

Of course will NOT agree, but it's score would be lower.

You fool fellowship of the ring is the worst of the trilogy you should have kept going it only got more epic. Although I love fellowship so hmmm maybe LOTR just isn't for you. And yes the hobbit was meh and sleep inducing.
