You're okay. I'm with you. The first half is the better half but the second half is not some catastrophe. It's good, if a tad over done in the editing department.

It isn't any worse than the second half of plenty of other good comic book films. The third act storytelling meltdown is pretty standard operating procedure with the genre.

92% of tdkr is the worst thing Nolan has ever done.....but don't get me started....all of begins and tdk and b89 is my favorites in order I worked on tdkr in Pittsburgh, I've stated how the entire production just wanted to be done with batman as fast as possible and it showed with laughable plot lines twists and massive plot holes and a rushed movie.

This comment is brought to you by... HATERRRRRRRRAAAAAAAADE!!! Now in 5 different flavours of bile and stupidity.

Has anyone seen that absolutely superb Mondo MoS poster? I need that in my life.

It's ironic, Superman Returns went down well with critics but the GA wasn't interested. We've suspected for a while now that MoS would be the polar opposite as far as the content of the film, and now the critical reception and the audiencea reactions seem to be the opposite aswell.

I'm really happy with the consensus on the film by all the forum members here who have seen it, that's why so RT rating can get me down.

Thank god..I thought i was the only one and I was some sort of sociopath.

EDIT: Gladiator got 77%!? what the f'n hell...is nothing sacred?

(Crowe voice) They were not entertained. RIMSHOT Thank you, I'll be here all week, try the veal.

It's now at 31 postive and 15 negative at RT.

I'm not worried about RT. It seems like most of the negatives come from the critics that don't like action setpieces much, especially modern ones. Let's not forget that all three Transformers films went rotten and made A LOT of money. And the first and third films were actually pretty good, a little drawn out, but fun movies.

A problem that the critics seem to have with Man Of Steel is that some of them no expect a wisecracking lead due to RDJ. But when each critic picks out a different thing that they did not like, it just means it's down to preference. There are no glaring flaws that stand out to everyone

I think mostly because we want the critics to embrace n like superman too.

I actually enjoyed the Transformer movies. Specialy the last one, even tho it was disliked by critics. It was movie that featured giant robots fighting eachother, what more do you want? a long boring love story?

33 fresh. 15 rotten. Ugh. MOS is way more polarizing than I would have thought. At least 2/3 the majority is in it's favor (so far). Still around 200 reviews to come in.

It's not likely to change for the better....

I think it's time to accept <70... maybe even low 60s as the most recent ratings seems to be more rotten than fresh...

Basically, in Zack territory, he always gets around 60 - 70 %.

If any of you guys haven't seen or heard any of them before, you should check Kevin Smith's rants about critics, and how pointless they are.

Kevin Smith hates the critics because hes a terrible film maker and they (the ones with eyes ears and a brain) know it. As does the GA. His career since Clerks and Chasing Amy has been Shyamalan-esque, minus the technical skills. Why would anyone care what he has to say about any subject ever? Please don't bring that lazy, talentless hack up again in this forum. Never been a big fan of Snyders, but he deserves better.

What worries me a little is when guys like Roeper said that the character development doesn't work though. He loved the Iron Man trilogy, the Batman trilogy, Avengers, Thor etc so he certainly doesn't have a problem with superheroes of various kinds. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised though.

I didn't, and probably won't, watch anything after Transformers 2 but what I wanted was something that made me care about what happened in the action. If it's cool and I care it means so much more.

Of course being a fan of something beforehand will make it easier to care and therefor easier to enjoy a movie.

This is true, and it's what I would have thought back in 2009. But everything we've seen and heard has completely turned me around on Snyder, and I have so much respect for the man now. My anticipation and expectations of this film went off the charts after that comic-con trailer, I really believe we're getting something special. Everyone is saying this is Zack's best film, but I guess that's really not saying much.

When it's only a few 'rotten', I was a bit skeptical of the critics.. but when so many says the exact same thing, it's not because they hate the genre.. they are probably telling the truth... This movie will not be 'the best super hero movie of all time' after all... as much as we wish it.. People who cares about characters development and a good script is 99% likely to 'not like it as much' as people who don't care much about such things...

Ah and what if you were in that mindset reviewing Man of Steel? Hardly fair, thats the problem with opinions, like critics it's personal and subjective therefore pointless.

This tomatoes meter has quite a magic effect, the moods of some people are directly linked to it moving down or up. It's quite funny. :woot: Guys and gals, join me at the acceptance stage! :yay: Trust me, it's wonderful up here. You can be happy to have a great new (and best so far) Superman film and you don't give a damn about what that little meter says. :word:

Lol. Still confident it will get 1B???

I said it won't matter much if it remains above 70%.. if it keep dropping, yeah, the variable will start to take effect... not quite sure how much... It'll still be huge though.. bigger than most will expect.. even if it drops to 60, I am expecting it'll still be higher than 750M worldwide..

Basically, what i am trying to say is, if the movie 'actually sucks', then yes, it'll affect BO and WOM... if it's just a difference of opinions but is still a pretty darn good movie, then not so much...
