True enough. But then again. They COULD have killed the kid off, thereby putting Superman in a position of pure anger. Would have been nice to see Mr good guy deal with that sort of emotion :-) Namely because anger is not superman at all... Any way, I agree though. And I think Warner Brothers made the right choice by rebooting this franchise. I can't wait. Damn, 2 whole years! :-(

You really think a movie about someone killing Supermans kid and him going mentally angry would have been the way to move forward with the franchise?

Come on now...

but it would have been teh dark and teh edgy.......:o :oldrazz:

Yeah I think I'm gonna start avoiding spoilers and stuff too now.

I'm just kind of torn between wanting to be able to take part in all the discussion (because we have 2 years to wait), and wanting to walk into the cinema with no idea what to expect :)

Ugh, I know what you mean. I kinda feel I already know too much! This is going to be a tough tough haul... :(

Wasn't that a proposed storyline for a SR sequel?

Not to be a complete dick, but to whomever is taking these pics, I'd like to offer to buy you a real camera! Seriously, I will buy and ship the damn thing.

Well, to be fair, killing the kid would have made the series more enjoyable.

If his death was painful, anyway.

:woot:

we should be grateful we're even getting these pics at all.......:o

I think someone said they're having to be taken from up to a mile away due to security.

I just laugh at those who say that this scene looks lame and low-budget while judging it from crappy spy-photos. Do some people really know so little about movie-making?

Same thing happened with the leaked TDKR spy-footage.

Which of those statements was a fact?
isn't henry the shortest superman in superman movies?

isn't amy the oldest lois in superman movies?

isn't the lower portion of the suit not following the classic suit? and it sucks looking.

isnt the story involved kent death and the advert of the kryptonian villains?

Well, what you actually said was:
cast - henry looks good but a bit short. amy looks good but a bit old.

suit - upper portion looks good but lower portion sucks

action - action in smallville seems good but look like a scene in the low budget - superboy tv series.

story - so far the known story looks like a repeat of STM - kents die and 3 kryptonian villains.

ya, we are in for a treat indeed.

Cast - You didn't just simply make statements about age and height, you placed value judgments on them. That's an opinion.

Suit - Entirely opinion.

Action - Entirely opinion.

Story - Speculation and inaccuracies, mixed with little fact.

So really, the only facts you actually stated was that there are 3 Kryptonian villians.

There's 2. Who knows what the other "thing" is yet.

I counted 4 so far. Zod, Faroa and 2 mo-cap guys.

I like to look at it this way. Cavill is 2 inches shorter than Superman's official height, and Bale is 2 inches shorter than Batman's official height. If Bale is acceptible, then Cavill should be too.

But Christopher Reeve stood 6' 20" and could kick people apart.

"Official height" from the comics?

That's all well and good. But we're not talking about a comic-book, but a movie. Who cares if the dude matches up to snuff with the comics looks-wise upfront?

Hugh Jackman looked nothing like the comics' description of Wolverine and yet he is the characters for millions of real people who've never read a comic-book in their life.

There are at least 3 different mo-cap guys, not including Zod.

Maybe so. And I'm pretty sure it's just kryptonian henchmen and not Darkseid or Brainiac. :whatever:
It might even be a creature based on Doomsday.

Hah, I should just keep my mouth shut. You got the guy who's already condemning this movie because of some blurry spy photos, and then I chime in in support of Cavill, and I get treated like one of the nitpickers.

Cavill is 2 inches shorter than Superman's official height...

I have a Superman "encyclopedia" (with citations) from the 70s that lists his height as 6'2". So what's "official" seems to vary.

You do realize I'm actually speaking in support of Cavill, right?

Yes. And now that Cavill is only 1 inch shy of "official height," the support is even stronger! :woot:
