I will purchase whichever car gets the most number of votes!

In this poll are the list of cars that I’m currently looking at to buy by the end of THIS YEAR. So, this poll will tentatively remain open for the next 7 months and will be updated weekly with information and photos.

Let’s get to it:

Here are the 8 cars that you need to help me decide on. I GUARANTEE that I will purchase whichever car gets the most number of votes and/or intelligent opinions on this poll by the end of the year. Most of these cars vary greatly in terms of class, features, and price, but obviously they each personally offer me something different in what I like in a car.

NOTE:
  • The specs below are based on newest model(s).
  • The car will be bought NEW (2009/2010) or lightly USED (2008/2009)

My top favorites:

-2009 Pontiac G8: Lots of power. Big car. Used GT's are cheap due to Pontiac going under.
-2010 Ford Fusion Sport: 12-speaker Sony system, high quality. Low Price. All-around.
-2010 Chevy Camaro: Good price. Highly customizable. Good V6 power and handling.

:cool::cool::im:

Let's hope this poll becomes a success!!

Discuss...and as always, don't assume that I can read your minds and that everyone here knows as much about cars as everyone else--in other words; if you can, tell me WHY one car is better than the rest. :D

Honda has always been the most reliable for me so I picked the Accord Coupe.

I chose the mustang so you could drive it for me.

Maybe if this was a few months from now, after its official release, I would be more excited about the Genesis Coupe. The Genesis Coupe looks good in its price, performance, but overall, I find it a tad bit boring. Comparison-wise, I would prefer a Mustang GT or a Camaro over it. It's basically that simple. Surely, I would love to own one, but not necessarily over the former two. I'd probably even take an Altima Coupe over a Genesis Coupe. It's just personal taste.

10. Ford Taurus
Avg Price: $32,000

As with the Genesis Coupe, if this was 2 months from now, the Taurus could've been #10 on my list, but since the car hasn't been officially released yet and there haven't been many expert reviews on it, I'm not that excited about the car yet. I am really loving the SHO Taurus, and even with Ford's low resale value, it'll probably take a while before I can find the SHO under $40k. Either way, it's a really great-looking all around large family sedan inside and out. But, for something that large, and for the price, I would prefer a bit more power in a regular model.

Tough choice....between the Camaro and the Pontiac for me. I would probably go with the Pontiac.

I would love to drive Bumblebee.

I love the exterior of the new camaro, but interior kills me inside a little. The one you showed in tehpicture above is actrually better looking that what I saw. I hate the gauges being right in front of the gear shift and if you choose a lighter color interior such as silver I think it combines with the hard lines to give it a crappy sci-fi wannabe vibe. If it's a darker interior like black though it could be better (I'm not sure I haven't been in one with a darker interior.)

I'm not a big fan of mustangs if only for hte reason that you see so many of them on the street. I think they are decent cars price wise, but since I have always liked having a car that is just a little bit more unique.

I do definately like the new Altima Coupe. I test drove one and liked how it rode.

Overall I picked the new Dodge Challenger. The picsyou have IMO don't do it justice. I used to see pics and think it was alright, but seeing them in person now I think they are great looking. I also like the interior. It has the right balance of new feture and classic style IMO. While I've ridden in one and it was smooth as hell, I haven't actually driven it so I can't comment on that.

Also, since you put in some things like Ford Taurus and Fusion, I'd recommend looking at the Saturn Aura XR. I know it's a Saturn, but I actually looked at one when a friend gotone as a rental car and ended up buying a used one. I really enjoy it and has prety good speed at the 3.6L version and plenty of features for it's price. Look at it in black and it looks good too. If you're looking for more of a sportier car then it probably won't do the trick, but I would take it over a new taurus and even the Fusion. It's more of a sensible car with style than sporty though.

Yep. As you saw, its strong, retro musclecar exterior and interior is what I really like about it. I've seen them up close and a neighbor of mine has one and they are really eyecatching. I hear that it's a bit of a gas guzzler and it handles like a truck, but is incredibly fun to drive.

That wouldn't surprise me, although I thought it had about the same gas mileage as the new Camaro, although I'd have to look it up.

Hmm...The R/T may have the same MPG as the Camaro SS, but I think the Camaro 2LT has the slightly better fuel economy.

It's interesting...

A used 09 G8 GT can be found for around the same price as a new 2LT Camaro w/ RS:

Both are $30,000.

A new G8 GT will be more expensive...but a used 2008 G8 GT can be found for as low as $24k...

Hmmmmmmmmmmm..

But, if both cars were bought new, the G8 GT would be pretty much the same cost as the 1SS Camaro...and that's upwards of $33,000. :csad:

I own the 3.5SE Altima Coupe. If you get one, I actually suggest trying out the CVT Transmission. I was all about manuals until I got this baby. The constant RPMs as you accelerate is so lovely.

It was quite a bit of power and torque to put you in the back of the seat. I love how it looks like a 350Z or G35 coupe. For a coupe it has decent back seat room (can fit a full grown adult with leg room without cramping the passenger). The only problem is getting in and out of the backseat :P

As you pointed out, it does have the push-button ignition, but also has keyless entry and keyless trunk access. Its great to never have to reach in my pockets to get into my car...ever.

I got mine fully loaded (Bose sound, heated-leather seats, sun-roof, bose sound, 6 disc stero, XM Radio, etc etc) for around $30k brand new over 2 years ago. I was looking at different cars as well at that time: GTO, Subaru WRX, Mazda Speed 3 or 6, Golf GTI, Satern Sky Redline.

What really helped me decide: the Altima is sporty, sleek and fun, while at the same time maintaining some practicality. It gets decent MPG for a V6 (I actually average around 22-24 MPG for City/Hwy mixed driving and near 30MPG on the interstate). Finally it was one of the cheaper cars on insurance. At the time I bought the car insurance was a large factor.

I hope that helps TNC. Good luck on your buy!

Get a Segway.

Also a little red wagon and some rope, for when you have a date, of course.

All of this =

Don't listen to Mee... he's like 12 years old or something.

A Hybrid / Electric Car (none of the above) - otherwise, get the car with the lowest gas consumption.

I think I'm gonna aim a little bit lower...I think there may be some career transitioning going on.. :(

Anyway, here's a #11, heading to some used car territory:

11. Pontiac Grand Prix GXP 2006/2007/2008
Avg Price: $18,000

Honestly, against the G8's pricetag, I'd rather save another $3-5k and get an '08 GP GXP.

It still has the weird Pontiac console, but it still has a powerful V8 engine, 300+HP, FWD, and sporty performance and handling. The fuel economy sucks, but that's always the downside to V8's.
