First, I just want to say thank you for everything you have done for us.

I am currently putting together a film about a young guy leaving to become a soldier in the war. This includes saying goodbye to his friends and family in addition to finding out that this is who he was always meant to be.

I want this to be as accurately portrayed as possible.

So, basically, what I'm asking for is any personal stories that you may have and are willing to share that include:

1. Growing up in a military family.

2. Knowing that you were meant to be a soldier & why did you become a soldier?

3. How did you say goodbye to your girlfriend? And tell her about your decision?

4. How did you say goodbye to your friends? How did you tell them about your decision?

5. When you told your parents, how did they react? Were they both worried that something might happen?

6. Were you ever scared or nervous about the risks? Such as dying in the war?

Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated and would help me get this project to be true depiction of a young man deciding to be a soldier and going off to war.
