To Blow or Not to Blow?

I saw this on a TV show before and it went really wrong and created a black hole....

Actually, once the CERN project is completed I can see someone from James Bond holding the world ransom for.

100,000,000,000 Teddy Bears.

:D

TEDDY can not be bought!!!

TEDDY!!!

There are a bunch throughout the thread.

This is BIG NEWS as far as I'm conCERNed. Basically, what the are doing, is trying to recreate the Big Bang on a smaller level via a particle accelerator. There hopes are to unlock keys to 'the begining.' Of course, if we aren't the product of 'A Big Bang' it will be billions of dollars wasted.

Certain members of the scientific community have warned of possible Doomsday outcomes. Here are a few:

1. This experiment will rip a hole in the fabric of time and make time travel a very real possibility.
-- Time Travel sounds good but ripping a hole in the fabric of space and time sounds bad.

2. Colliding these particles will open a series of miniature blackholes. It's not a stretch to say that one of these blackholes could get out of control and proceed to devour earth.
-- Gulp.

3. Ironically enough, CERN, the company that is conducting this experiment is also the same company that brought the world the first internet server.
-- That's right folks, they are building the theorized matrix too.

Miniature black holes can't sustain themselves for long enough to ever grow into any kind of threat. They would be in existence for not even a second before evaporating. If they do in fact create miniature black holes, then it could be evidence that the universe is made up of more than 3 dimensions, which then goes on to parralel universes and whatnot. I'd say if they were able to do that, it'd be a big achievement. Probably worth a Nobel Prize.

And you know what, if they do find out that we aren't products of the Big Bang, I wouldn't call that discovery worthless. Anything discovered that in turn changes every science textbook ever made, I'd say that discovery is pretty big.

Yes but are you aware of the size of this machine and how many mini blackholes they may create? I'll put it this may, they could combine to form a very large problem. And we could get something like this:

Also, Am I the only one who notices how much this thing looks like a Stargate and how it could possibly be the blueprint for such a device?

It's getting mighty weird, mighty mighty weird.
