Ok, I was out of town for a week, and I haven't watched Raw or SD or been in this thread at all, but I just finished NXT...

While the match itself was really good, why the **** did they just job out their most popular NXT wrestler so badly against his first new challenger? In my opinion, cutting Zayn's reign so short and making him look like Owens' whipping boy is almost as bad as WWE killing Bryan's title reign by saddling him with that awful Kane feud.

We'll see how it all plays out. I guess it could be a Rocky 3 situation, where he comes back and overcomes the guy who beat the crap out of him before.

I didn't see the Owens/Zayn story that way at all, the story of the match was about how ruthless and viscous Owens is, how far he'll go to get the title. He dominated Sami at first with Sami only getting bursts of offense in, that is pretty normal structure given the size difference between the two.

Then Sami threw caution to the wind in his anger and clearly was supposed to be concussed, which allowed them to establish how dangerous Owens is as he mercilessly powerbombed him over and over, and Sami kept trying to fight rather than stay down.

To me Owens came out of it as a cold and ruthless heel and Zayn came out of it as a never say die fighter who lost through his own daredevil style getting him concussed. This match was great character work for both guys in the first act of their rivalry IMO.

Granted it in an ideal world Zayn would have had a few defenses in first and this match wouldn't have happened until June or so, but they had to have Owens impact be immediate to establish his threat.

I think the match was great for Owens, but not Zayn. Owens looked like a world beater (similar to Lesnar vs Cena at Summerslam, but not quite to that extent). I just don't think the match did Zayn (or his momentum as top baby face in NXT) any favors.

All that being said, it was another great show for NXT. Absolutely loved the Balor-Neville match and the women's 4-way. I was also much more impressed with the tag champs in this match. The only "weak" part of the show to me was Corbin-Dempsey, but that's only because that feud needs to die, and Bull Dempsey does nothing for me at all.

- Vince McMahon is credited with the idea of having Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns forced in multiple segments on both shows this week. We’re told he wants them to be the centerpiece of WWE Fastlane, however, critics currently see all characters as secondary under Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

The final word on the Seth Rollins nude photos scandal is that Vince McMahon wasn’t upset at Rollins personally but he was upset at the whole situation.

Vince was reportedly upset it happened, the fact one of the NXT Divas was exposed nude and most of all, upset the photo of Zahra Schreiber was available on WWE.com.

Within WWE, the incident is considered a private matter and that everyone should respect Rollins in handling it himself.

- There is said to be discontent on WWE’s main roster right now over how NXT talents are given the chance to go out and put on great matches while most main roster talents are restricted to short nothing matches on TV, especially if they are Divas.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter added to the story on his message board:

“So story is accurate but it’s inherent. It was the same thing in the OVW days, well not exactly the same, but similar. I get DMs from people on the main roster always after those specials. It’s a common frustration. The top NXT performers are frustrated they aren’t on the main roster making money. Then they will get more frustrated when they realize their dream. WWE guys are frustrated they aren’t having the matches guys in NXT are when they know if they can perform before 400 fans in longer matches they can tear the house down.”
