FT. COLLINS, Co. Apr. 23, 2007 - A four-year-old boy is going to be fine after quite an adventure over the weekend in Fort Collins.
Caden Thomas and his family were at Colorado State University attending the school's annual spring football game on Saturday.

During a play, one of the players caught a ball in the end zone and then slammed into Caden, with both crashing into a wall.
"It was kind of scary 'cause I got bonked by the football," said young Caden. "It kind of hurted."
The football player says he did what he could to try and protect the boy from being seriously hurt. The boy received a deep cut to his forehead.
"You turn your head to look on one child and here goes the other child," said Caden's mom Holly Thomas. "It happens to every parent and you don't have eyes on all sides of your head. It's the worst thing you can imagine as a parent and then you're facing it."
Monday, the boy was at home with a few stitches in his forehead, but otherwise is doing well. His parents say they are grateful their son was not more seriously hurt, calling the entire incident a freak accident.
Caden did receive a game football signed by the head coach of the CSU football team and some other gifts to try and help him feel better.
"I feel grateful. Very grateful," says Holly. "I wouldn't wish this on anybody. This one has a happy ending and I acknowledge that. Not every story has a happy ending."

Yay! Signed football makes everything better. :meow:

Uh... huhwha?

What he means is, I don't care how many kids you have, you don't let them out of your sight when in a public place like that. If you're incapable of keeping your eye on them at ALL times, you don't take them out in the first place. Period.

I don't know if it's just me but my first thought after reading the title was "was he holding the football?"

He's a toddler. He's probably 4 or 5. You expect him to have perfect grammar?

I mean really....he has better grammar than half the members on the hype, and all the ones on the Hulk board....

There was a football player running toward them at top speed (despite being such big SOBs, they're pretty fast runners). For all we know (and the article is pretty vague about it), she might not have reacted in time even if she was watching him. We don't know if she was standing one foot away from her son, or if she was irresponsible enough to let him wander off.

I'm more inclined to blame the player, who wasn't paying enough attention to see someone standing in front of him. Dodging people while running at top speed is exactly what he's been trained to do, and not only did he run into a 4 year old child, but he slammed the both of them into a wall.

Just in case you didnt know, there's a video link on there.

Well, make me look like an ass, why don't you.

More like to bribe them so they don't sue.

The four year old should have called an audible. That was his bad.
