No. Heath Ledger was perfect from the word "GO."

Shame on you.

Do you have a link to his "source's words". I don't mean to offend you, Rag, but it just doesn't make sense. Why cast an actor if you dislike the way he's portraying your character?

Sorry...its just what he's told me directly.

He's not disliking the way Hardy is portraying the character, from what I know.

He's disliking Hardy's choice of voice.

Which is fine, because Hardy's mouth is behind a concealing mask, and they can always discuss the voice later on after the main bulk of shooting is done, and ADR it in afterwards in post.

Like I said before, I'm sure Heath came up with some really dumb stuff before he finally settled on the right voice for Joker.

I don't know, still a bit hard to believe they would start shooting despite Nolan not being happy with the main villain's voice.

Is he credible? Do you trust him?

Maybe Nolan thought it would grow on him, and that he trusted Hardy's decision. But over time Nolan grew to realize that it just wasn't right for Bane.

Which it's not.

He was right about the BatJet. And one other thing I can't recall.

Very he confirmed the Batwing and the multiple Tumblers a month before they were revealed.

he also was the first I remember hearing say there was more to Selena's costume. Later substantiated by ChrisB and Gill.

Thank God. I was really praying he was credible.

Now I don't have to worry about Bane's voice. Thanks! :)

From what I recall, there were a lot of 'Gay Cowboy' jokes following his casting.

If he were perfect, he sure wasn't received that way.

Let's be real. Nolan has the final say in all things. If something needs to be changed then it will be. That voice isn't staying that way.

Yeah but people's needs to make a joke of anything gay related doesn't actually lessen Ledger.

Once the movie came out there weren't many of those jokes. Most people loved it.

Could it be that Nolan has heard or had people on this board and heard that quite a few people are laughing about the voice (and not in a good way) they heard from the Heinz Ketchup Field shoot and "that" was the last straw?

Possible, but not very probable.

Nolan, as much as he likes us, doesn't really care what we say about the stuff he shoots or does on these movies while they're being filmed.

The only thing he's upset about is the flood of spy pictures from the Pittsburgh shoot.

Yes

Kind of yes.

Oh theres actually word that ol' Chris is pissed about the burgh spy pics? I wasnt aware of that.

Well the story I heard was that initially it was a problem but actually worked to their advantage as Subaru was doing a hell of a job marketing the film. Yes Subaru's name came up specifically.

Nolan understood people would see what was going on and is fine that the film is being seen because context is deeply perserved.

plus there's a handful of things shot in Pitts than no spy picture or report has mentioned. Like the Michael Caine Scenes

Well I hardly think he expected nothing would leak. When a flying giant freaking....something chases after a goddamn Tumbler, people with eyesight and properly functioning brains tend to notice.

Nolan's never really particularly been concerned with fans that much anyways.

Caine shot some scenes in Pittsburgh? Tell us more! :awesome:

One of my favorite things about him.

Eh, there we disagree. I think that maybe if Nolan looked at some of the complaints, both parties could get with they want. He can have a realistic universe, but he could ease the goddamn vice-grip on his universe.

It's his for a reason, no? He was hired, not a filmmaking committee. Fans can't even agree on what they want anyway.

Remember the scene in Knightfall, where Bane asks Catwoman to work for him? She declines and walks off, and I think she expresses her disgust at his actions against Batman. That would work well here.

Which wouldn't make any sense in this movie IF she's a straight up ally to Batman and not a morally ambiguous thief.
