Script turned in last week plan to start in June if the script is right. Not sure what the hell is going on but I heard from another source that it will film this Summer.

Has there been anything you've read lately that you really enjoyed?

TJ: I really liked "Criminal." It's a great book. That impressed me a lot.
I enjoyed it, too. And do you have any update for the fans on a "Punisher 2" film? Does it look like it's going to happen?
TJ: Well, the problem has always been getting a decent script. We actually have a script that's being turned in this week and we all have our fingers crossed, you know? We'd love to do it. Everybody wants to do it, but we all want to make a good movie. It starts with the script. We've gotta get a good script, and then we'll be ready to rock. The plan is to start the "Punisher 2" in June; of course, I think I said that last year, too.
Anything else you want to add? TJ: "Alien Pig Farm" comes out in April. Buy it!

Well, I'm not getting my hopes up on this just yet.
 
Because I got it from Steve Niles blog on myspace. Didn't look for direct source. By the way guys...this movie is filming this Summer. It's as close to a lock as you can get. :)
 
Unless the script isn't up to standards and then we're back to square one.
 
What if its decided that the script is crap?
Who's responsible for this franchise? Lions gate?
Hopefully they won't be as cheapo as they were last time, I remember it being said the budget was quite underwheelming.
Sure, the Punisher doesn't need a monster budget like the Hulk, but the more money, the more care, the more likely it will be set in New York, and that the explosions will look real nice.
 
My hope is up too but I'd rather have a great script than a so so one... Punisher 2 needs to hit it out of the park, and that Shield writer seems to have what it takes... who's set to direct this thing?
 
Here is the problem: The article on SHH is a copy of the article posted on MySpace by a few various people which is a copy of the original article posted here.

If you read the very beginning of that article it establishes a time line that is close to 50 days old. Mardi Gras was in February. At the time of the interview, Jane is leaving there to go START filming 'The Mist'. The shoot for 'The Mist' lasted close to 45 days. That ended close to two weeks ago.

So, CBR sat on this interview to release it to help promote 'Alien Pig Farm 3000' closer to it's release, people are not putting things in order and thinking this is "new news".

Bottom line is this: It's a bummer they are reporting things out of time context, but on the bright side, things are moving.

If that's true nice find because that around the same time Tom said a script was coming in in a few weeks. He said that back then too. Hmmmm.

Yes, in the AICN 'The Mist' interviews Tom talked about having the new script but not having read it yet.

I forgot to mention earlier in the day I talked with Thomas Jane a little bit and he brought up that he just got the script for PUNISHER 2, but he hasn’t read it yet. “I hope it’s good.”

So this must have been Sutter's script.
 
This is doing my head in - Lionsgate please make the sequel.
 
Wow if this movie comes out next year, that will give us 3 Marvel movies..........Punisher, Hulk, and Iron Man...........and one DC movie, Batman. Looks like another good year for Marvel.
 
yeah but Wolverine shouldn't be a summer release. I would say around Halloween or Christmas. Punisher should come out in February. You have 3 of the biggest names in comics coming out next summer in Batman, Ironman, and the Hulk. Let them have the summer and place Wolvie and P2 somewhere else.
 
Some good news, really hope things pick up. And as for a filming start in June? Even better.
