It looks like TR:A's gonna be getting the 360 treatment!! :D ESRB's site have rated the 5 locations in the game for the Xbox 360 - Croft Manor(Free DL), Peru, Greece, Egypt and The Lost Island. The game is said to be released as DLC for last year's Tomb Raider: Legend and it'll come in 2 separate packs(2 locations each pack). There's no word on the pricing or an official announcement, but it's on ESRB's site, so it's gotta be true. Personally, I'm not too fond of the way that they're distributing the game to 360 owners, but wth. As long as it's on the 360 with some polished up gfx, I'm good.

You can get it for the PS2 at Best Buy for $20 this week. I'll be perfectly happy with the PS2 version.

My sister loved the TR game for the 360, so shell be glad to hear this.

:wow: :wow: :wow: This is the news I was waiting for

I don't care if it's a direct port touched up with a bit of vaguely next gen graphics.

If the price is right, I'll get it:

A. As a history lesson, because I never played Tomb Raider 1.
B. For the easy Achievement Points.

Here's the official announcement.

The achievements won't be as easy as you think. This game is significantly more challenging than Legend. The achievements will probably be the same as Legend(i.e. finding relics, secrets, completing time trials and levels, hard mode etc.), you'll probably have to invest more time into the game. The relics and secrets are harder to find, and some levels, puzzles and time trials are very difficult.

Will the game structure be identical to the PS2/PC version?

Cool. That's all I was expecting. Can't wait!

You poor people, waiting for a game I've been playing for a week.

I could get it off Steam right now, but I'd rather wait for a console version.

If it is coming in the form of multiple Xbox Live Arcade Downloads,I doubt very much our version will be "Polished up"But Im more than sure it will look AS GOOD as it does on the PS2.

It should natively look better but the real reason I'd get this over any other is for the achievements.

It's going to look better than it does on PS2. The 360 is getting a PC port with a few changes.

I love the game on PS2.
It's frustrating, and infuriating, but it makes we want to come back for more, which the original version did not. I hope they remake 2 and 3 in this fashion.

But hopefully they remake them only for next-gen consoles so that PS2 graphics can finally be laid to rest.

LOL!
Yeah.
They could fit the Second and Third game onto one disc, that way you won't feel cheated for spending $60 on a game. With Blu-ray on the PS3, I see it being possible on one disc. For the 360, however, it should be two.

Why would they remake and sell two and three simultaneously? Where's the money in that? Besides, do you have any idea how long it would take them to remake both of those games? They didn't even have enough time to remake TR1's 15 levels for Anniversary. The Cistern was shortened and combined with a virtually non-existent Tomb of Tihocan, along with the Atlantis levels which were incredibly shortened and chopped. Now can you imagine what would happen if they had to remake TR2 and 3's 37(38 if you include the bonus level from TR3) levels with 3 years of development time?

each game is long independetly and would make NO sense to release both games as one

Don't feel sad. :) I heard that even though The Cistern was shortened and stripped of its side rooms, there's still a good puzzle in the main room. And Tomb of Tihocan was never that great of a level to some people anyway. Although, personally I liked it a lot, it's a shame it won't be in Anniversary. It was fun flooding the rooms then pulling switches to open up new platforms. However, I'm still a bit upset about Atlantis, especially since I love the new design for it. It would've been great if they at least stayed true to the original layout instead of changing almost everything but keeping the money shots(Doppelganger puzzle, Torso boss, Natla etc.).

I just hate when things are (even slightly) rushed and something gets missed out. I'd be like this even if they missed a pixel on Lara's shorts. :woot:

Lol, I'm sure 75% of the TR fanbase would be too, including me! :D But yeah, I do agree with you. The same thing happened with Legend, a ton of areas got cut out because of the amount of consoles they were developing for and they didn't have enough time. However, it's not like Crystal Dynamics to release a visibly rushed product. Hell, I didn't even know Legend was rushed until I looked back at the first trailers and videos of it and saw all the missing areas.

I didn't know all of that was left out, because I sucked at the original game, so I didn't get that far.
Oh well... Doesn't make me love the game less.

Official announcement!! :woot: :woot: Finally!

I'm so happy that there's gonna be a full retail version too! :woot: I'm surprised that the DLC is so cheap, 2400 points for all four episodes(two packs - two episodes each pack), Croft Manor is gonna be free. Each episode has its own achievements, 250 points each. So that brings the total up to 1250! There's gonna be graphical upgrades too, which makes me extremely happy! :woot:
