With the recent news that Dr. Donald Blake is being added to the end of the Thor script, it seems to me that the "Marvel will introduce Thor in Iron Man 2" idea that was stated some time ago makes a little more sense.

Anyone else think it seems fairly obvious that Stark will be encountering Blake as opposed to the actual Thunder God in all his glory?

I don't see how...Blake was just added to the script...Isn't Iron Man II's script already finished?

I don't see a Thor appearance.

No one thinks anymore before they reply.

Iron Man II's script was finished, and NOW Blake was just added to the Thor script(to become the "new" Thor). If that's the Thor that'll show up in the Avengers movie, then wouldn't that mess up Iron Man's supposed cameo of Thor? Or reference, or whatever.

Iron Man II's script is not finished. There may be a finished draft, but that does not mean it is finished.

If they're gonna start filming in Feb. and March...why wouldn't the script be done?

Because Justin Theroux is still re-writing it? What do you mean "why"? It isn't done because it isn't done

It doesn't matter if it's done or not. They could still make changes during filming and even when the movie is done filming.

I mean I remember something being said a while back that Iron Man II would introduce Thor, but who knows in what capacity that truly meant. Plus Theroux has said they want to firmly keep Iron Man 2 in the real world . . . but I mean the fantasy elements essentially have to mix with Iron Man sooner or later.

What's with the hypesters and their s**t-on-oneself references..? :hehe:

Exactly. That's why I think Blake would make for a great connection between Iron Man 2 and Thor. Perhaps they wouldn't even allude to Blake's power and simply have Tony meet him at some point. Non-comic book readers would think nothing of it until they get a surprise payoff at the end of Thor!

Plus, this satisfies the realism element of Iron Man 2 (Tony meets Dr. Donald) while still serving a fantasy element connection through the Thor film (Donald is actually Thor).

I remember that report awhile back about Thor being introduced in IM2. Donald Blake would be a good way to do it. Think it will be a quick scene like when Tony met Ross in the The Incredible Hulk.

a donald blake cameo may work, just like nick fury's, just as long as it doesn't mess up the plot of the film

to be honest, no one will really know who he is supposed to be in the theatres though but i guess you can say the same about nick fury.

More Rhodey and Fury this time, plus flashbacks with Iron daddy, plus Hawkeye and Black Widow, plus the two baddies.. and now Blake..? They better make a 140 min movie :hehe:

They could always put the cameo after the credits, like with Fury in Iron Man 1 and Tony Stark in The Incredible Hulk.

Do they really need the donald blake character, i think it takes away from standing next to a God and all the fun scenes that might bring...

That was something a lot of people were concerned about. A bunch of superheroes standing together is already ridiculous in the movieverse, add a god and it might be too over the top. Add a doctor, and we're still cool

But that's the whole point, you want cap standing there to be standing there amongst geniuses, gods and monsters and be the most vital asset of the unity.

thor is 'SUPPOSED' to be the pink elephant in the corner of the room.

the thing about a bunch of heroes together is that normally when we seem them in a comic, they all have their costumes on, remove their costumes and they function better in a meeting and don't look so strange...

i mean they dont have to believe he's thor and that shadow of doubt could be enough to have the character be relatable, same as what they did in ultimates. Thor didn't stand out because no one believed him.
