This thread will be dedicated to the discussion of your favorite top 10 movies of 2008 so far. So far I've seen Vantage Point, 10,000 BC, Jumper and Cloverfield.

I really dug Cloverfield and I liked Jumper. I thought Vantage Point was ok and I fell asleep during 10,000 BC which I've never done before:wow:

Out of all them movies so far Cloverfield might reach my top 10 list by the end of the year.

1.CLOVERFIELD
2.JUMPER
3.VANTAGE POINT
4.10,000 BC

Since 2008 ain't over yet, I'm just going to list the ones I've seen and at the end of the year I will assort them into a top 10:

Cloverfield
Rambo
In Bruges
Be Kind Rewind
City of Men
CJ7
Funny Games
Teeth
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Harold and Kumar:Escape from Guantanamo Bay
Iron Man
Speed Racer
The Forbidden Kingdom

I must check out In Bruges, I'm hearing nice things.

Cloverfield
Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street
There Will Be Blood
AVP-R

Cloverfield
Rambo
Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street

I haven't seen one 2008 film.

Sweeny Todd, There Will be blood and AVPR don't count because they are 2007 films.

Maybe in the US but in the UK Sweeney Todd was 10th Jan 2008, There Will Be Blood was 15th Feb 2008, & AVP-R was 18th Jan 2008.

I live in Philadelphia and There Will Be Blood was released here in Jan.

Including those that were released in the UK later than they were released in US

1. No Country for Old Men
2. There Will Be Blood
3. Cloverfield
4. Jumper
5. Rambo

Same here, it sucks that I haven't gone to the theaters yet :csad:

If I were to include 2008 that came out in here Ireland but mostly everywhere else in 2007, Juno would be my number one.

Even if it was not released in your area until early 2008, TWBB, ST and AVP (wtf would anyone list AVP?) all were 2007 films as they were marketed and released in that year and that is what they are listed as, even if you did not see it until 2008. If you see Citizen Kane for the first time this month that does not make it a 2008 film.

Anyway,

I've only seen 4 new movies so far in 2008 (Funny Games, The Other Boleyn Girl, Semi-Pro and Superhero Movie) and only two of them did I think were decent, but nothing amazing:

so--

1. Funny Games (U.S.)
2. Semi-Pro

Neither of which I expect to make it to my real top 10 list come December/January.

I've seen seven so far

1. Cloverfield
2. Street Kings
3. Leatherheads
4. Vantage Point
5. Stop-Loss
6. Welcome home Roscoe Jenkins
7. Spiderwick Chronicles

I only see Cloverfield being in my top ten by december, but Street Kings was great too. I can see that in the top 15.

1. 'Horton Hears a Who!'
2. 'Be Kind, Rewind'
3. 'Cloverfield'
4. 'Rambo'
5. 'Charlie Bartlett'
6. '21'
7. 'Strange Wilderness'

As for movies that I think will later-on be on my list:
'Smart People', 'Quantum of Solace', 'The Dark Knight', 'Iron Man', 'Hancock', 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince', 'The Pineapple Express', 'Step Brothers', 'Wall-E', 'Get Smart', 'Indiana Jones IV', 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' and 'The Incredible Hulk'. Undoubtably more to come.

Man, if you guys are going to get your panties in a bunch, I'll take out There Will Be Blood. I thought it was a 2008 film, since I didn't get in Philadelphia til the 3rd week of Jan. But my mistake.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that TDK will be my favorite movie in '08. I've been wrong before (Spider-Man 3....:( ) but I just know that TDK will be amazing.

As I've seen only two films in 08...

1. Cloverfield
2. Juno

3. Run Fatboy Run
2. Cloverfield
1. Justice League: The New Frontier

That's all I've seen.

Actually, 'Juno' was a 2007 film. If it wasn't, it'd definitly be on my list.

Yeah, but I saw it in '08. IMO, if it's still in theatres in 2008, then it is fine. Am I wrong?

Yes, you're "wrong". Juno was made in 2007 this thread is about movies made in 2008. Not seen.

So far I've only seen two 2008 movies.

1. Rambo
2. Be Kind Rewind

Indeed you are wrong, this isn't the 'Movies You've Seen in 2008' Thread. It was made in 2007 because it was released in 2007, it wouldn't matter if it was released on the last second left of the day of December 31st, 2007.

Okay, okay.

I've seen a few a movies, maybe 5 or so, but the only ones so far on my list are:

1. IRON MAN - 10/10 - One if not the best superhero movie out there. Great performance with an awesome story.

2. CLOVERFIELD - 10/10 - I thought the movie was perfect. Great cast of characters. Great monster movie. Very exciting movie.

3. THE INCREDIBLE HULK - 9.5/10 - We finally get to see Hulk Smash in its true form, fighting someone his own size.

4. RAMBO - 9/10 - Very good action packed movie. I wasn't let down, and was really surprised in some parts. Very great Stallone film.

5. IN BRUGES - 8.5/10 - Very entertaining movie.
