    My list starts tonight!

    1. Gangster Squad 7/10 - Entertaining, but from the cast I sort of expected a better quality of story.

Here are some I imagine could end up in my top ten by the end of the year:

Man of Steel - (Snyder directed, Goyer Written and Nolan produced superhero movie)

The Great Gatsby - (Baz Luhrman, Leo Dicaprio and Carey Milligan)

Only God Forgives - (Nicholas Refn, Ryan Gosling starring (aka the guys who brought us Drive))

    The Place Beyond the Pines
    - (Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper)

    Don Jon's Addiction
    - (Joseph Gordon Levitt directing and starring with Scarlet Johanson)

    Gravity
    - (Alfonso Curan, George Cloony and Sandra Bullock in space)

    Knight of Cups
    - (Terrance Malick, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman) AND To the Wonder (Terrance Malick, Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Javier Bardem, Olga Kurylenko)

    The Counselor
    - (Ridley Scott, Bradd Pitt, Michael Fassbender)

    The Wolf of Wall Street
    - (Martin Scorsese, Leonardo Dicaprio)

    Twelve Years a Slave
    - (Steve McQueen, Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender)

There are also tonnes of others I want to see - Much Ado About Nothing, End of the World, Kick Ass 2, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, The Wolverine, Warm Bodies, Oz The Great and Powerful, Oblivion, Pacific Rim, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Red 2, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Lone Ranger etc.

Not heard of this one, what's got your interest?

You should, it's on Netflix streaming. It's a very outside the box film and it says a lot about film in general just from the opening scene alone.

Yeah, definitely check out Rubber. The trailer makes it look like a silly horror movie parody where a tire, rather than a person or a monster, is going around killing people. But there's sooooooo much more to it than that.

    1.) Oz
    2.) Man of Steel
    3.) The Counselor
    4.) (tie) Knight of Cups/film formerly-titled-Lawless
    5.) Star Trek Into Darkness
    6.) Stoker
    7.) The Great Gatsby
    8.) Upstream Color
    9.) Only God Forgives
    10.) Saving Mr. Banks

2013 is shaping up to be another great year in film.

In no particular order, and I'm sure this will be quite different from the list come the end of the year (though it be might interesting to look back on it). The first five I'm definitely excited about, the other five I'm cautiously looking forward to...

    Iron Man 3
    Thor 2
    Star Trek Into Darkness
    Gangster Squad
A Good Day to Die Hard

    G.I Joe Retaliation
    Fast and Furious 6
    Man of Steel
    Kick Ass 2
    The Lone Ranger

Also, just to add another perspective, I hated Rubber. Awful movie, painfully boring, made some neat observations but nothing ground breaking that others hadn't done before. A horror flick about a killer tire would have been much less painful.

The trailer for To the Wonder is absolutely wonderful. But Tree of Life also had a great trailer and I wasn't huge on the film itself, so I'm cautious.

John Dies At The End is already my favorite film. It is wonderful, funny, original, screwball, and cool...
