I am old school and still think the best games are from the original Nintendo. So my top 15 are:

I never played that one! SOunds cool though. I played Whatever that Mario Game was that came with the SNES and the Contra one and one or 2 others. Just never liked any platform as much as the original. Probably just sentimental.

Excellent list! Remember though, your list doesn't necesarily have to be NES, that just happens to be the platform I like m ost and all my favorite games came from that one. It is your top 15 games from any version of any system. 15 favorite home games of all time!

LOL! You know I originally stated this thread as 'Your top 5 favorite games' then went to 10 and finally 15. I almost went to 20 but realized if I kept doing that it would never end! It was really tough picking just 15 from the list of great games!

Yes, finally some love for Super Mario RPG. I still dust my SNES off from time to time to bask in that game's greatness along with Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country and Killer Instinct.

...I loved the 64..May be one of my most favorite systems. Seriously. I had the PSOne but my heart belonged to the 64.
 
For original NES, I would always play Metroid and Spy Hunter. In 8-bit metroid had a very creepy other-universe feeling.
