What films where you greatly anticipating and when you saw them was very disappointed? Of course the year isn't over but I can only think of two more major releases this year which are Thor and the Hobbit. Feel free to edit your list of swap it around after seeing any other releases.

1. Man of steel

2. Iron man 3

3. Pacific rim

4. The purge

5. Jack Reacher

Mortal instruments - yes, I thought this might be decent

WWZ - I almost walked out
The Purge
Iron Man 3
The Lone Ranger
Evil Dead - Not bad but disappointing

Are you saying it came out in January where you live or you just saw it in January?

Frutivale Station - disappointing because more people didn't go see it.

I'll stress that I have certainly seen WORSE movies this year...but these are movies that I was greatly anticipating and fully expected to be very good that did not live up to my expectations.

1. Man of Steel
2. Spring Breakers
3. Lords of Salem
4. Iron Man 3
5. Jug Face

Iron Man 3 by far.
Pacific Rim
Kick-Ass 2

Everything else I've seen this year was great.

Nothing really disappointed me this year since I knew what to expect from most of the films I watched. These last few years I really stopped nitpicking summer films since they're made as simple fun entertainment. Yeah, if they make a summer action film a bit deep that's great and I welcome it, but so much is going on in my life(you know life, what exists outside movie theaters :P)that as obsessed as I've been with films, you eventually come to the realization that they're not important in the grand scheme of things. I actually can't stand most film criticims anymore because most fanboys take this **** waaay too seriously, as if a movie that is deep and near flawless somehow elevates them onto another plane of existance.

I wasn't disappointed by Pacific Rim at all it delivered with what it was advertising giant robots fighting giant monsters. Sure the the acting was the best but the fights and visuals were great and the story was cliche/ okay but served its purpose for the movie.

I was a little disappointed with the Mandarin twist in Iron Man 3 but it didn't ruin the movie for me. Tony's story arch in that movie was great and a logical conclusion for his solo movies. Man of steel was bad to me at all, I saw it as an early Superman who will learn from the mistakes he made and become the superman we all know. For me, making Superman more human and relatable.

Movies that disappointed me this year

1. Hangover Part 3

2. The Purge

3. This is The End

4. Kick Ass 2

5. 2 Guns

6. Paranoia

7. Die Hard

8. Texas Chainsaw 3D

9. Oz The Great and Powerful

And I am probably forgetting some but those are a few that come to mind for me.

Welcome to the hell that is SHH.:woot:

Kick Ass 2 was disappointing but I still enjoyed most of it.

Yeah, I've gotten used to message boards over the years and I never used to get annoyed at the massive amount of movie complaints but they have become worse over time.

I found Pacific Rim, Man of Steel, and Iron Man 3 all underwhelming, IM3 the worst.

Man of Steel comes to mind :csad:

A lot of films I didn't love don't make the list because I wasn't expecting to love them. The following I genuinely thought would be great, and turned out to be anywhere from mediocre to pretty damn awful.

1. Man of Steel - most disappointment I've felt towards a film in my life.
2. The Great Gatsby
3. Kick Ass 2
4. Gangster Squad
5. Oblivion
6. Byzantium
7. Spring Breakers
