I was disappointed by Raised By Wolves. It seemed like it was aiming to be thoughtful sci-fi, but was fairly sophomoric in execution.

I did quite like Lovecraft Country, Devs and The Queen’s Gambit.

I really wanted to believe that the involvement of Stewart and Chabon would be enough to overcome the dark powers of Kurtzman and Goldsman, but alas, no.

Stewart was still great but when easily the best episode of your series has to go out of its narrative way to rope in some TNG nostalgia, well, that about says it all.

There were just enough intriguing bits to keep me hoping but the last episode... ugh. I was just nauseated by it. They got Patrick Stewart in an iconic role running around in a sub-Mass Effect story. The resolutions they tried to whop us with were so forced and awkward, I felt the same gag reflex I got back when Star Trek: Nemesis came out. Unearned, inelegant, and cheap. Which is just so wrong on the basis of a show like TNG that carried itself with so much integrity and dignity.
