totaled my first car

Ok so here in pa(pittsburgh area) a flash snow/ice storm hit last week.Alot of wrecks and so on.I had to drive from my girl friends house about 40 miles on back roads and highway.This trip should take a half hour,it took over an hour and was the worst id ever driven,i drifted all around the high way both right and wrong side,had no break power and kinda just hung on when the spinning started.I got about a mile away from where i was going and hit a small bump going 20mpg(which is ruff to go under with my car gas or no gas) and WAM after 4 spins and a ditch i smack into a tree.My seat belt popped,my dash went nuts,the air bags winned but didnt pop because id missed the bumper and the whole drivers side buckled.I couldent get out the doors so i crawled out the now jacked window.I thought mabey it could be fixed but the insurence guy said its totaled yesterday.Im pretty sad,Its my first car,got through alot withit,narrow misses and so on and I had alot of great times with it,now it sits in the drive way awaiting its fate.Im going to get a good deal out of it i guess but still i dont like letting it go.The funny thing was of all the people that drove by the only one to speak to me was two old guys yelling lay of the gas.Im going to mis ole silver(mustang gt) but i gotta move on.Ive decided to skip another gas hog mustang and go for efficent other country goodness.Question is what? I bought a beetle for my gf so mabey one of those.O well,I dunno how I will get rid of this one,mabey a scrap yard can gimme some cash and Ill just keep the mustang on the front to remember it.

Cars can always be replaced. Humans can't be. Glad your safe. My advice would be to go test drive as many different cars in your price range as you can to get a sense for what you like. If you're used to a 'stang, everything's going to seem slllooowwww in comparison, though.

I turned but it was to late and nothing was stopping my spin,mabey if the ditch wasnt involved i wouldent have dipped up to the tree.Yes im safe but still I will miss that car and I heal.It was my 96 gt,i chose it over my 05 because it handled better(funny huh?) and i still dont regret it,I love that car.Im not sure if my insurence company takes it somwhere or not.I had my cell phone on the passenger side open as i drove incase of a wreck my girl friend(who i was on the phone with) could call sombody.I really didnt think the damage was that bad until i looked at the bottom of the car and so on.I had just bought angel eyes for it to.

as for a new car I like the bug,im not going suv,i want somthing better on gas,its 40 miles round trip just to go see my girl friend and thats all city so id like to get more then 15 to the gallon.hybrids look better and better each time i hit the pump.I guess it wouldent be as bad if it were a different car,i planned on keeping this one forever,simply because of the history.Ive got it coverd up from the snow,ive yet to clean it out,itll be sad.


edit-your lucky your 05 got stolen,its a terrible car that doesnt live up to its predecessor.

as far as im concerned 350zs are the best baseline sports car on the road.I dont want another sports car,just as I dont want another cat because they wont compare to those before them.I just went outside and dusted of the windshield,i felt its pain.

Im kinda in the same situation today I was putting in a new starter and i had just put in a new battery and i tried to start the car and the entire thing was locked up. So yeah im royally screwed. Now i have to get a new one.
