🇺🇸 Traitor, Con-man, Insurrectionist, Sexual Predator, Convicted Felon and All-time Weirdo : The Trump Thread

“I would almost put money on the fact that I probably had seen him wear a Trump shirt or something along the lines of that beforehand, which is why this is so shocking to me,” Paige Updegraff told Pittsburgh public radio station WESA.

If they can't figure out a (negative in his mind) motive for the shooter for his actions, they should be considering a (positive in his mind) motive he may have had in doing it. Hinckley shot Reagan to impress (in his mind) Jodie Foster.

The reason conservatives obsessed over collecting guns was not because progressives and liberals had ill will towards them or because Obama was going to put them in FEMA camps. It was pure projection.

They're the ones fantasizing about putting people in concentration camps. They're the tyrants. And they're projecting their intentions onto us.

Have we as americans come to the point that talk of assassinating each other like a 3rd world country is not only ok but encouraged?

Even in a pretty blue area, I found at least one effigy of hanging HIllary in 2016. The Right has been embracing it for a long, long time. I mean, lynching is cultural for some people.

You can thank MAGA for that. :(

My only hope is that all of these things that are going his way and building him way up will somehow end in such a tremendous and devastating fall he will never ever be able to recover from.

Definition of deal with the devil more likely. You don't get this kind of "luck" without a monkey's paw twist coming your way eventually.

Yeah, all his luck is just because he is rich.

And Vance is the VP. Somehow, I don't think he is going to be quite the calming voice in the campaign.

The owner of the rifle used to shoot at Donald Trump had been identified by the former president’s campaign as a strong republican, likely gun owner and “hunter”, as revealed today by Channel 4 News.

In 2016 the Trump campaign built a database profiling millions of voters in key battleground states – including the family of Trump’s would-be assassin Thomas Crooks.

It found that both the parents of Thomas Crooks were very likely to be gun owners and shared other gun-related lifestyle indicators.

This database was first obtained and revealed by Channel 4 News in 2016.

The programme can now reveal the information was compiled as part of a secretive project aiming to identify millions of gun owners in America who could be targeted with pro-gun rights messages in the lead-up to the 2016 election campaign.

Man, these past few days have been quite a roller coaster.

Failed assassination attempt on Trump by 20-year-old is used to try make him look like a martyr. However, it comes out that he’s Republican. Then, it’s supposed out that he made a $15 ActBlue donation and guessed to be a former Democrat. Only, it wasn’t him that made the donation, but a 69-year-old Democrat living in Pittsburgh that shared a similar name. So, some slight relief.

Now, Trump puts forth his VP, who hates women and wants to take away their rights, which is bad. Then, I realize, due to recent circumstances of even women in the Republican party pushing back against having their rights taken away, that this choice of VP might backfire on Trump, which might be good.

Anxiety go up, anxiety go down. Anxiety go up, anxiety go down. Anxiety go up, anxiety go down. Anxiety go up, anxiety go down.

Stop playing with my anxiety, universe. 😓

I'm still looking for where this was confirmed. Any links?

There does seem to be some confusion about that. There is a 69 year old Dem who made some contribution to the Dem Party, Whether the 20 yr old did, I've heard conflicting reports. I suppose if you have the same name as someone who made a political contribution, there might be some confusion at first.

I think this turned out to be false. Supposedly the address on the donation form matches the shooter's address, not the 69 year old.

Either way, with everything that’s come out about him so far, from what his former classmates have said about him, to the way he dressed and the shirt that he wore when he attempted the assassination, him being a former Democrat because he supposedly donated $15 to ActBlue for Biden’s administration just doesn’t check out.

I’d reckon it was a bet between him and a Biden supporting student:

“If your side loses, you have to donate to mine.”

They would also make it day of inauguration so that the money doesn’t go towards the campaign itself.

I can easily see a bet like this taking place.

There’s also the possibility it was for merchandise to set on fire or to vandalize to try to look cool with his peers.

The outlier doesn’t indicate he’s a Democrat as everything else shows otherwise, rather that there’s more of a story behind it that doesn’t necessarily indicate support.

Keep in mind back then conservatives were of the mind that buying a company’s product that they were “boycotting” and then destroying it - they considered THAT to be a “boycott” lol.

Oh I know, I'm just saying unfortunately I don't this one was true. The theory about it being a bet does seem likely though.

Yeah, I can definitely see that. Seems like he would’ve been gullible and dumb enough to take a bet like that at that age.

I mean, teenagers, amirite? :oldrazz:

Yeah he was 17 at the time of the alleged donation on inauguration day. Why would someone donate to a voter turnout project on inauguration day instead during the actual election when it would have been at its maximum utility? People have to think through this.
