🇺🇸 Traitor, Con-man, Insurrectionist, Sexual Predator, Convicted Felon and All-time Weirdo : The Trump Thread

US News
Sometimes I don't like my country very much. This crap should be a losing bet, but instead it's being lapped up like cream. :(
I feel that way a lot

How it's even allowed under the constitution that a convicted Felon awaiting sentencing can be President is beyond me.

Like I get the founders never would've guessed that'd be a scenario they'd have to plan for, but still

And yet his numbers refuse to drop. Clearly Republicans lied about being concerned over a President's mental acuity.
I mean, Republicans voted for Reagan back in the 80s and he was cognitively impaired, too. :(

In fairness, that wasn't half as public as Trump's decline. He was not only smarter than Trump overall but he had a team that helped keep a lid on the worst aspects of it. Despite Ronny's (notable) shortcomings as a human being, he was still more human, self-aware and mature in his left pinky alone than Donald Trump has ever been. While Reagan did things I disagree with, at least I get the sense that he felt he was doing them for the right reason, which I can respect more than someone who will tell you to-your-face that he knows he's a bastard. Reagan also was man enough to cop to something like Iran-Contra. Trump would never.

The thing that must be understood is that people who are hardline right wing will vote for their candidate regardless--people voting for Trump don't care about anything he does or says or whatever's wrong with him, because they aren't voting for a Republican out of a reasoned analysis of the candidate. They're voting for them just because of the "R" next to their name. That's all there is to it. No rationale, no standards, nothing.

It's outlandish what's happened to the Republican party. While they've never been saintly (at least since they shifted conservative), when Nixon did what he did, the party turned on him--whether they were disgusted by his actions or did it to save face, such a concept is so far above the Republicans of today that it's shocking, and in retrospect, Nixon didn't do anything half as abominable as Trump has. Tricky Dick must be looking down (or up) and laughing at how he's clearly no longer the worst president. :funny:
