And, in fact, Smith was doing what the judge told him to do by submitting the filing. Essentially, Trump is just saying "I don't want people to know what I did and said because it will hurt my chances to win". He seems to think people shouldn't have information when deciding who to elect as president.

Right. The idea that the DoJ, an investigative and prosecutorial agency, is going around telling judges what they can and cannot do is hilarious; or would be if some people didn't believe it.
