I see this movie pulling in about $30-35mil opening day with an opening (actual) weekend of around $100mil. Of course the figure will be more around $160mil when you add in the Wed. and Thurs. numbers. And I agree with the domestic being around $350 when its all said and done. This film is getting a peak release date which is why it is going to pull these numbers. I think it would be interesting to see what it would do in the May market...

It's hard to say because there's Terminator and Harry Potter coming out that will rack up big numbers but i bet Transformers will make a hefty amount and be in the number one spot more than 2 weeks.

Terminator is coming out more than a month before T2, so I dont think that will be much of an issue. The big question for me is the 2nd weekend, because Public Enemies is coming out the next Wed., which is going to pull in much of the same audience as T2. I think it will be close, but I think most people will see T2 in the first week and then see Public Enemies the next weekend, but the numbers for both will still be big..

i don't see PE stealing TF2's number 1 spot the following week. same demogaphics maybe, but TF is a much much bigger scale, and is a summer tentpole popcorn type of movie. PE could have been released in nov and gotten the same money.

and please...it's TF2...theres only one T2.

TF's placement is perfect because there are no big movies around it. wolvie has star trek the following, and TS soom thereafter. all 3 will hurt each other. after all that is done...TF will come in and take it all. similar to what TDK did, although i don't think it will generate the same numbers.
