Revenge of the Fallen Transformers: ROTF Official Pictures Thread

So you felt the need to come online and tell us you know..........but not what you know????

I dont know what you know but I kinda suspected he wouldnt be in the film much, Im guessing he will just be in long enough to scan and send all the vehicle modes to the Decepticons, if indeed thats what he is supposed to do. Bay wouldnt show the main villian (The Fallen) so much in trailers, etc and not show pics of Soundwave if he had such a big role. oh well, we all knew this was coming deep down. But surely he IS in the film if only 10 minutes?

I didn't want to ruin it for anyone is why i didn't post it..but what the hell,...

..........he doesn't transform!

That's right. In a movie called Transformers - about robots that Transform, one of the most iconic and popular TF's in the history of Transforms achives doesn't transform! It really pisses me off that Bay does things like this. It's like he deliberately spites the fans, cause this is obviously a move that would cause anger. They've been talking about bringing him into the movie since TF1, and when they put him in, he's stays in space as satellite.....wtf? :csad:

I've never understood the popularity of Soundwave.

I wouldn't call any of the TFs iconic. I think that iconic characters are characters that, practically, everybody knows, whether they're fans or not. Superman and Batman are the best examples of that, imo.

To me, the most important TFs are Prime, Megatron and Starscream. As long as they're around I don't really care who else they put in.

 Who am I brown nosing?

Micheal Bay of course. Comments like "Boo ****in' hoo. Bunch of ****in' cry-babies." are normally made by people in these forums who accept any adaptation regardless of how significant the deviations from source material are. Saying that you don't give a ***** about Soundwave in another lead proves you're not a big fan of the original classic G1 series. Being antagonistic towards people who are minding their own business and have legitimate complaints about this film shows your also a troll. I'll never understand why some people who disagree with other opinions always feel the need to insult those they disagree with.

I am a G1 fan. I just don't like Soundwave. So what?

What I said wasn't aimed at anyone specifically and it wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

Just to clarify, I do respect everyone's opinions. I was just having fun.

The changes don't bother me because I just see these movies as another interpretation. Just like how Beast Wars/Machines were different and that Armada/Energon were different. I'm not saying that I don't understand why others don't like the changes. I do.

Would this have been too terrible Bay? To at least have him in Robot mode in space for a minute or two, he could have been in robot mode while hacking into our Satellites then went to his Sat mode to send the signal out to the Decepticons, I dont know just something.
My tribute to what could have been

"Whats that lord Megatron? you need help? Well I would but Bay just has me floating around up here in space"

Other option is that the review is bogus, Im sure it isnt but until I see it for myself I still have some hope of a surprise maybe.

I agree with Cassidy. Soundwave was such a huge/popular character in G1 and here we have him having a cameo? No shots of him in robot mode either? Lame if you tell me. And on the other side we have the twins and Jolt. Are you kidding me? Where's Prowl, Cliffjumper, Sunstreaker or Mirage? Maybe Bay is waiting for the third installment, hopefully.

*sigh*

Then again, I'll be there opening night.

Yea with all the character flaws/choices, I REALLLLLLLY hope that the ending of this film has SOME tie in with Unicron to be in the 3rd film, or at LEAST a mention of his name, but knowing Bay Unicron would surely be like Galactus in FF2.

as someone who has been liking most of what i've seen and heard so far, i think Soundwave having a small role IS pretty lame. he's easily one of the most popular ones and they could've utilized him immensely in this movie.

Me either, I think it's more tactical for the Decepticons to keep him up in space.

I agree, at least if something happens to Megatron or Starscream he is there. Problem is Orci & Kurtz kept him out of the first one due to his role being nothing more than a cameo and it not pleasing the fans. So I am confused now... from the sounds of it his role is nothing more than a cameo that's not going to please the fans. Sigh.

I'm half and half. I dislike Soundwave being only a cameo, but on the other hand, it means he doesn't get slagged. This means he'll probably come to Earth in the third film (a great way to break the 3rd film curse).

Given the size of Soundwave (a communications satellite can be over 30 meters) I understand how how he does not transform because he would be about the size of devestator.

So Bay and the writers lied about him having a significant role in the film? There's plenty of things about this film that have irritated me but, this latest news is by far the worst. Why not just call the transformer Baby-Farc McGeezax if the role is nothing more than a cameo? Iconic characters of any comic book, cartoon, or book series need more screen time then a few minutes.

Exactly...and although i haven't and still plan on seeing this movie...from what i have read..my thoughts still remain the same..why the f is Bay doing this movie?? horrible robot designs...lack of character depth, lame jokes and at times stays away from the source material..what the hell is the purpose of havin soundwave as a cameo (and for anyone saying he could be building up for the 3rd film..Bay already said each film is it's own movie)..and he doesn't transform!!???..that's the point of the movie..that's one of the coolest things..to see them tranform...and soundwave not having the voice either..i swear if this movie is anything like the first one...in my opinion Bay is truly a hack...and i would hope one day someone does the movie more justice..

That Wheelie clip was pretty funny and entertaining imo, surprised when he took a blowtorch to the eye though. And Im pretty much at terms and have accepted Soundwave not coming down to earth or even transforming as that will only mean as others have stated that he will not get killed off and will return with a bigger role in the 3rd, just be nice if this film ended with Soundwave sending a signal out or something to show emphasis on his character in the 3rd.

In the cartoon, Soundwave was always viewed as the espionage guy, and sent his little cassettes out to do the dirty work and recon. Yeah, he could fight too, but I guess in this movie he's playing the wire tap expert on the team.
