The thing is that they're both different missions that end in different ways. So what I've been trying to say for a while now is that there's no reason why both storylines can't be possible without having to make a compromise to either one. It's tough because Bumblebee is a spy, but Jazz is a saboteur/special ops. Both jobs suit the situation, really.
Jazz doesn't save anyone's life like Bumblebee does. In fact, he doesn't save a damn thing. He fails at stopping the Decepticons' failsafe plan to crash the Ark (which has to happen anyway to keep the basic Transformers plotline), and the most Jazz can do is bring the Decepticons down with them.
. He's been operating for a while just to get dirt on the Decepticon's activities. Nothing specific about a bomb or the Ark. He just happens to come across the plans for the failsafe.
