Transformers TRANSFORMERS SEASON 1-4 DVD releases?

So what's the story on the TRANSFORMERS Season 1-4 being released on DVD again? A Transformers movie comes out, it sparks massive interest in the old cartoon, and now the only DVDs available are the out-of-print ones selling for over $100?

Are the DVD/movie/cartoon companies actually trying to inspire DVD bootlegging?

Sony got the rights to put the showon dvd after they took them from rhino. But the company they were using to put out new dvds were shut down.
