Matt Shakman, director of Fargo and GoT episodes will helm the adaptation of the fantasy novel about a young man with a dull life that encounters a tollbooth in his bedroom, travels through it, and encounters a mystical and wacky world.

I remember seeing the cartoon when I was younger, and being freaked out about it.

I remember little about the original movie other than Eddie Munster playing the main character and the fact that it scratched my "live action movie turns into a cartoon" itch. Which just reminds me of how much I loved The Pagemaster.
