is it actually still coming out in 2011? I mean, that's a long wait. Besides, Captain America, Thor, Green Lantern, The Hobbit, and John Carter are released within 2011 and none of them have started filming yet. It shows how far Tron 2 is with their schedule.

I guess it's because the movie involves so much VFX. I couldn't find any info on whether this movie is totally being shot against a blue screen or partially. If it's the former , it doesn't surprise me that the movie is opening 2 years from now.
Similar movies like the SW prequels , 300 & Avatar all took nearly 2 years to create.

I think that Disney is also taking a budget-conscious approach to create Tr2n. Instead of spending millions in overtime to get the movie done in a relative short timeframe , they're taking their time to create the VFX.

Here's hoping that Disney releases this movie in a good month.
Opening it in July or December won't work out well consdering the release of two very anticipated movies ( The last potter in July and The first Hobitt movie in dec)

it better be called Tron 2.0 or Tron 2. None of this silly business of just calling itself "Tron".

I feel your pain. James Rolfe (the Angry Video Game Nerd) did an episode of "You know what's Bullsh**" about sequels that try to hide the fact that they're sequels by re-using the first movie's title. It's basically like the producers want to trick people into thinking the movie is a reboot, because sequels are now "unfashionable" thanks to the reboot/remake craze. Which of course is totally futile since all it does is confuse people, not make more money.

Well the film is awhile away whos to say by the time the film will be released the Tron title might end up being Tron 2 or Tron 2.0, etc......

Reports coming in from SDCC that the movie's called Tron Legacy.

I'm down for Tron Legacy. As long as its titled with a ":" in the middle; Tron: Legacy.

Tron: Legacy.

Don't **** with the MCP.

Definitely better than leaving it just "Tron".

They showed the same footage from last year in 3D and then they had put a clip together for the crowd.

Daft Punk is composing the music?..thats gonna be freakin weird lol

Here is the title treatment:

Looks great.

A sequel would be very cool.. The internet could be used in a cool way, a bit like they did in Futurama. Flynn could open up portals in the computer world and use the internet to travel or something..

Watch the animated series Reboot. It is entirely like that. It's one of the few good shows from the late 90's early 2000's.

They plan on having the movie released November or December of 2010.
