about freakin time.. a whooole year later...lol

but im still amazingly impressed.
this movie will kick so much ass

its a teaser with unfinished effects. but i dont care so much about the details. i like the designes. the designe is what stands out IMO.
you can never have enough glow and lens flares in movies :)

Anyone got any HD links, i cant seem to download it off the site for some reason ?

Ok...I just have to throw this out here. Does it seem to anyone else that Disney is trying to make this look as exciting an event and nostalgic as say, SUPERMAN RETURNS, the latest Indiana Jones movie or a Ghostbusters 3, and that this approach could very much fail?

How many people, outside fanboys, even remember TRON, let alone care about it? Eh, I guess they have to promote it somehow.

THE SIMPSONS says it best, and always has:

"Did anyone see that movie TRON?"
"No"
"No"
"No"
"No"
"Y-I mean no"

What's the budget for this? Anyone know?

Thank you for throwing a wrench in all the fun. Did we say this would make assloads of money? No. Only time will tell. We think it's awesome anyway....

I'm not talking about its box office. I'm talking about the approach to the marketing campaign. Are they going for a nostalgic thing?

Its being filmed in stereoscopic 3D and this is just a test reel and it looks like they are utilizing the tech wisely to make a visually impressive movie.

What I'm still skeptical about is the actual story but so far it looks good. As far as BO earnings its to early to tell. Once their marketing campaign picks up more momentum should give us an idea of possible earnings.

well this movie can not be a direct sequel. people will not watch the first movie before watching this. so when they are in the theater if its connected to the first movie and if the masses will confused then it will be bad.

Not necessarily. There were plenty of people that went to see TDK without even bothering to watch part of BB...and they were just fine. As long as the story doesn't rely on the previous film, it'll be fine.

but TDK was not connected to BB.

I loved the trailer, but...

Jeff Bridges is the villain? :wow:

I never saw Tron and always assumed he was the hero.

WHAT A TWIST!

Maybe you should watch Tron first, i should watch it too since i can barely remember anything from it, saw it years ago. :oldrazz:

In the ending of the first we know that he has at least become the CEO of ENCOM after defeating the MCP.
(Just in case someone who hasn't seen Tron doesn't want the ending spoiled)

But who knows what's happened since then. Maybe he has become as bad as the MCP or maybe theres more to what the teaser is showing.

I have not watched it in ages either.

At least 15 years.

Seriously.

Awesome, thanks Rezzo.

i dont think they are making this movie for the masses.

Considering how much they're spending, like hell they aren't!

There is going to be a highly focused, concentrated effort on bringing in uneducated viewers (ala Watchmen). All this stuff is for the fans, but the film will be largely aimed at the general viewer.

They don't want a repeat of the original Tron's BO gross.

Its nice to finally see that test footage from last year's comic con released officially in hd. CAnt wait to see what goes down for the film itself.

The fact that it's being released in Disney 3D shows they want to get that mass audience demographic. If it's rated PG-13, which I think it will be, it'll be in the vein of the POTC series more than likely, or at the least, National Treasure.
