I didn't get to participate in this one but I can't wait for the next part of the viral campaign.

i sense a new wallpaper :D

so simple shapes and colors.....and yet so powerfulll IMO

I cant wait to hear about what is happening this weekend at those special imax screenings that the viral game has going.

Guys, if you're signed up at www.flynnlives.com for the viral you can get guest +1 tickets for a screening (likely the trailer) in IMAX at Scotiabank Theatre (Saturday @ 11:00). Go to www.pitcell.com, click on the "get free tickets" portion, log in, and print/save them.

It's that easy, and since it's Toronto they probably won't hit capacity for a little while. Good luck!

Toronto's just a few...thousand miles out of my way. ;)

Yeah... probably should have mentioned the screenings are in Toronto, London, and Sydney. New York and LA are already gone.

Good call, wiegeabo!

I just really hope Disney isn't making unreasonable expectations for this movie's BO.

why would they t hey are probably h oping for a good 200-300mill total run domestically. And man i wish i was close to one of the cities doing the screening things.

For some reason I don't seem to be able to give this away - but I got one of the tickets for the London IMAX event tomorrow, and my plus one is going spare since the only guy I know who loves Tron is away at a wedding.

If you want it, say so and it's yours.

The fates are cruel. :cmad: I have work tomorrow, I cant get out of it. :argh:

Edit: Ah sod it, if I can somehow convince my manager to let me have the day off, can I still have the ticket? I'll be back online about 10PM, send me a message then.

Just got news on Twitter about the london screening: THEY SHOWED THE NEW TRAILER!!! Also, they gave out Flynn Lives t-shirts at the end.

so it was just the trailer, sweet, i was reading rumors some thought it would be a scene from the movie or an early cut of the film. Cant wait to see the trailer.

The trailer is attached to Alice in Wonderland, right? I have no interest in the latter, but it'd be worth the $14.:cwink:

well the trailer will hit the web too. So if you dont want to see alice u can always see it online.

wow can this make big numbers like AVATAR?

Who knows, plenty of people here were waiting for Avatar to fall short, and calling people who thought it would make Titanic money "delusional". Well, 2.5 Billion worldwide now, it can't underline that most people talking about Box Office don't know crap.

BTW- Don't get too excited for something here, or defend it too much, or you will be labeled a Troll.

Is is difficult to say if Tron can make Avatar numbers.
Personally i don't think so because these reasons
1) The story itself. Tron is (hardcore) SCI-FI in the league of Star Trek. Avatar may be SCI-FI or better yet SCI-FI mixed with fantasy but it was accesible to a broad audience. Creating all CG jungles , animals and of course the Na'Vi in CG was a big audience draw. With Tron it's a digital world as we know it. Personally i think that Tron be well received like the Star Wars reboot mutiplied by the 3d factor.

2)3d & IMAX itself. Don't forget that Avatar had all 3d and IMAX screen to itself for 3 months . OF course the movie was good enough for WOM to spread amongst the audience to see it in (IMAX) 3d. But suppose if Avatar only had (IMAx) 3d screens for december , it would have made alot of money but not as much as it's made so far.
And that's what may limit Tron .
Post Avatar studios realise what the power of 3d can be ( when it comes to BO) and i think that WB is also making a yogi bear in 3d and will release it on the same day as Tron Legacy. If something like the chipmunks can make more then 200 million ( in 2-d) , then imagine what a Yogi Bear movie can do for kids. And i'm not talking about movies like Potter which will open in November ( also in 3d) and may go on. 3d competion will be fierce.

So based on that i don't think that Tron will hit Avatar numbers.
But that doesn't mean that it won't be a hit. I think that Tron can easily make between 300-400 million domestic.

I am sure tron will make good numbers. Probably not as much as avatar. But still alot.
