impossible to know how much money it will make since we only have 2 official images and an original bomb from the 80's

"....and I ****ed in my pants."

Cool picture.

I wonder if this was filmed in digital because that shot resembles a few scenes from Benjamin Button and Zodiac.

well i think majority of the film was shot in real places vancour if i recall. Then in the digital world parts are all blue/green screens and all that. Also i was wondering any one got a pic of flynn's arcade from the 80s to compare to that new shot?

Tron was not filmed with IMAX cameras. so i wonder how will it look at that size. will it be so clean?

the director confirmed that as a sstylistic choice the movie will only be in 3D when they are in computer world. when they are in the real world it will be in 2D

is this the same building used for both movies? or did they replicate the facade in Tron Legacy because it's fairly accurate.

The machines at Digital Domain must've gone thru hell to render the images at that resolution.

computers will burn...............belive it :hehe:

its not just rendering. computers and software doesnt work so good at that size. composing and color grading must also be very slow. imagine an IMAX clip long 30 seconds. every second has 24 frames. and every frame is over 3K big. hahahhahahahhaahhahah

I think the only reason I'll be seeing this is because Bridges is returning. Visually it looks great though.

Digital Domain is a weird company because people rarely talk about them. It's always ILM or WETA. and then out of no where, Digital Domain comes out with great effects like in Ben Button.

maybe one reason that there's a slight neglect on their part is because they rarely have solo projects. In Some movies, companies like ILM or WETA would handle the bulk of the effects, leaving 20 percent to the other CGI companies. that probably include the likes of Digi Domain.

With ILM and WETA it's more about the fact that they their creations have made a huge impact on the audience. Lately look at their work.
WETA obviously has the LOTR movies , King Kong and of course Avatar.
ILN regained their "lost" status with their work on the POTC sequels and afterwards getting the photorealism right with Transformers and Iron Man.

And fanboys always believe in absolutes :oldrazz:
Hence why they always focus on the positive things of ILM and WETA and always forget the mediocre or outright bad stuff that ILM and WETA also created. ILM was responsible for the "genius " VFX shots of Mummy Returns and Van Helsing. And Weta did also work on the 2nd Fantastic Four movie or I,ROBOT. And The Day the Earth Stood Still & Eragon.

And after the genius work Domain did on Benamin Button , i can't believe they sunk so low with GI Joe. Truly craptastic VFX.

I fully believe that the directors are the ones who can make a movie's VFX excellent. You can give Spielberg ILM and he'll create the tripods of War Of The Worlds. You give Stephen Sommers ILM and he'll give you Van Helsing.
Kosinski fall the former category. He "gets" VFX and i'm sure that he'll definately deliver with Tron .
