I think people are so excited about it because it's something fresh and new. If your content with sequels and remakes, that's all good for you. But don't scoff people looking forward to something, and using press quotes as opposed to what people and critics are actually saying.

Let me just say that I'm looking forward to Tron 2, but I hate this Vs. mentality, especially when Avatar isn't any kind of threat to this films success.

With respect, you're seeing things that arent there. From way up on your high horse.

There's nothing in my post demonstrative of a 'vs mentality'. The 'vs' thing is normally when one posts a preference to something at the detriment to something else but you'll notice that I havent once bigged Tron up at the expense of Avatar. I simply stated that I'm looking forward to seeing Tron more. What's wrong with that?

In point of fact, I dont think I've even made 1 post to the detriment of Avatar. I'm going to see it at the weekend but I'll still be guarded from belieiving the hype as I dont want to get the bum's rush (that's what I meant by a part of me being 'meh' about it even though I know it's a big deal), and I dont think thats an entirely unreasonable point of view, to be honest. My being guarded certainly isnt 'scoffing' at the people who are looking forward to it.

I have this on my ipod and I listen to it all the time, along with a couple cool remixes of it I also found on youtube. There's a couple other songs on youtube called "The Distance" and "Fragile" as well that people are saying are from the soundtrack, but I don't know if that's been confirmed.

I too will be very much anticipating this film and it's soundtrack!


And for what it's worth, the music and visuals of this film have very much been inspiring a new take on Superman in my mind... not as radically different as it would seem these things would inspire, but definitely a new flavor of the classic character. Not the thread to discuss it, but I just wanted to mention that this music has become my new creative thinking music !

thanks for that! i agree with Webhead, it sounds just 'ok'. hopefully the rest of the score will be better, especially during the action scenes. i looked up 'Fragile' and 'the Distance' too. 'Fragile' sounds like DP's style, but there's no way 'the Distance' is DP's doing, hehe.

they are not that stupid to realese the 3D trailer only in US?

Well wasn't the original one distributed in the US only? Although I'm sure once it hit home video/DVD others became aware of it.

But I don't think Tron really has that big of an international audience.
