Well wasn't the original one distributed in the US only? Although I'm sure once it hit home video/DVD others became aware of it.

But I don't think Tron really has that big of an international audience.

Of course not.

They should completely market this Tron to all markets. This has good appeal for both domestic and international (I'm including Europe).

What I'm trying to say is that they might just debut the trailer domestically because the original film was only released in the US. Right after this they would show the same or the international version of the trailer to other countries.

Maybe it won't show with Avatar at all (which is likely IMO).

Hi, Tron was released in France, I can't tell for sure because I didn't saw it in theater at the time. Check IMDB, Tron was released internationally. It was a Disney movie and I don't think Disney have ever done a US only release but I would be wrong.

At least the music is different from Avatar's music so I guess that's a good choice and pickings of the trade.

I still think the trade will somehow try to emphasize how the prequel bombed and try to run this film down.. I hope they don't but I just have this vibe they might try to do it

I have this on my ipod and I listen to it all the time, along with a couple cool remixes of it I also found on youtube. There's a couple other songs on youtube called "The Distance" and "Fragile" as well that people are saying are from the soundtrack, but I don't know if that's been confirmed.

I too will be very much anticipating this film and it's soundtrack!


And for what it's worth, the music and visuals of this film have very much been inspiring a new take on Superman in my mind... not as radically different as it would seem these things would inspire, but definitely a new flavor of the classic character. Not the thread to discuss it, but I just wanted to mention that this music has become my new creative thinking music !

Thats NOT the Daft Punk version, thats some cover version by someone.

You can hear bits of the original by looking at the Flynn's arcade videos light cycle reveal on youtube.

You can guarantee though, the soundtrack is going to blow everything else out of the water when it comes out.

I wonder how Disney will market this movie. Personally i would loved it is Disney had decided to attach the Proof-Of-Concept trailer with all 3-d prints of Avatar ( domestic and foreign). Like the Inception trailer it's definately something that IMO instantly grabs your attention

The original movie has become such a cult hit and garnered such a following over the years that it's box office performance wont mean a jot to how this movie performs.

I'm a HUGE Tron fan, and I'm very much looking forward to this movie. The Test Footage teaser from July was fantastic (I was the one who got Comingsoon.net the scoop), and that new poster might be a good one to hunt down later on.

Disappointing news. The trailer for Tron is actually that of the video game that was released a few days ago to be put before the trailers of Avatar. At least, that's how it is here in Birmingham.

What did I TELL YOU... Seriously, I told you from the get go, at least they used the video game because the graphical components of that will be different from the onscreen visions we see on silver screen of actual humans so that is big difference. People will see Oh Yes this is video game trailer as they will say Xbox or Playable Stations based video games and will see that there are no humans in the trailer where Avatar does... so that's a good thing.

I knew you guys wanted to see the new Tron 2 trailer, so did I, but ON A DIFFERENT film, It should be on Sherlock Holmes or another film, but not Avatar... seriously I'm glad they pulled the idea of putting on a new trailer for the film and just thought alike and they did good job and plan with saying wait, we should market this with a totally different film, no confusion, no hassle, no SHINY BLUE, NO MESS = BOX OFFICE SUCCESS... you can take that rhyming scheme to the bank... hoodim

In Tron Legacy, the main character from Tron has been missing for several years. The main character's son discovers that his father has been inside the computer world for several years. He then travels into the computer world.
