You won't believe what Gwen endured just to live her life as who she was and feel normal. It's a shocking true story about courage and tolerance, and is sure to stay with you long after the credits roll.

Premieres Monday, June 19 at 9 pm et/pt

i make no comments about about geneder roles or reversals, or identification. and i would never advocate violence on any level.

however i feel obliged to comment on your asteriks. A person's personal views on gender identification and reassignment surgery are most definetly tied together with religious/moral views on life in general.

to comment then that one's belief is "ignorant" because they don't believe that one should change what G-d made is itself "ignorant." Tolerance is a two way street.

"Shoe on the other foot" notwithstanding. If one must be "tolerant" of another's choice to have their gender reassigned. Then the other should also be "tolerant" that some people may disagree with that choice.

when I say ignorance, I mean people that would do violence to those that choose that lifestyle or automatically label them as gay. If you disagree with the lifestyle choice, thats not an issue for me.

then i would assuredly agree with you. violence is not the answer.

i however will not be watching the program.

I understand that some people will not agree with this, thats fine. But I think people living in a democracy should be able to make lifestyle choices as long as they :

break no laws

hurt no living thing

use common sesne. ( For example, going to a known redneck bar dressed in drag, then wondering why you got your head kicked in. Yes, its a free country, but I would never go to a redneck bar dressed as a woman. Your just asking for it. Sad but true. Use common sense.)

How is going to a known redneck bar & getting my ### kicked have anything to do with rosa parks?

please note, i did not quote the portion of your post concerning going to a (stereotyping) redneck bar.

i only refered to the part about "breaking no laws." and how you think laws should not be broken.

my point is that sometimes the breaking of laws promote change for a greater good. i.e. The Civil Rights movement.

Was rosa parks not moving to the back of the bus against the law? Yes.

Was keeping her tush firmly in seat and breaking the law still the right thing to do?

That was my point in quoting only a selected portion of your post.

Ok, but thats an extreme example. I mean breaking the laws as in harming another person on purpose...... not breaking a law that discriminates against others.....

Sometimes laws are meant to be broken, of course there can be exceptions to almost anything someone says......

It seems so miserable, always having to post about one topic, obsessively spreading the word about one thing which should only be one facet of life.
I have unpopular and widely misunderstood beliefs and proclivities, and am a little bit obsessive regarding a few topics, but Jesus, it's a big life out there, dude.

"Imagine feeling like you're trapped in the wrong body, that there's been some sort of mistake — that you're supposed to be a girl instead of a boy."

man, imagine how awful that would feel, being trapped in a shell that you can't escape but that you know in your heart isn't right.

I'm trapped in a shell that I can't escape and I know in my heart it isn't right.
I'm supposed to be a cosmos-roaming samurai with bat-wings, goat legs and 6 eyes. I'm not kidding. That's what I am inside.
I've felt this way for quite some time, let's see, I'd estimate...29 years.
Imagine how horrible it is.

And I can't just dress up like that or save up and get surgery to try and carve my body into a crude approximation of the one I feel would better represent the "real" me.
:(

Look, No one should be abused simply because of they way they chose to live thier life, but If someone wanted to change genders are we suppose to be supportive? Encouraging? Happy for them? Accept thier new gender with open arms? People need to learn how to be happy with who they are. Regarless of race, nationality, gender, sexuality and the like...

I have an aversion to anything Lifetime, so I didn't click on it. Was this about Gwen Arujo?
