"Cat, soaked for three days in the running water of a stream" in Tuscany "comes out with its meat white, and I assure you — I have eaten it many times — that it is a delicacy," Bigazzi continued.

I would punch that grandpa (the tv chef is 77) in the face if I was there. The...epic...epic d-bag. Two thing I can't stand in this world. 1) Cats being hurt or killed. 2) Praying Mantises. Horrid creatures.

Honestly, it's no different than killing a cow or a pig for food.

He makes it sound sooo good explaining the recipe in Italian.

Simply put, never go to Tuscany, or anywhere else where they may hunt, kill, and eat cats.

He's not a *****ebag, at least not for eating Cat Stew.

Agreed. Tuscany is not like Olive Garden makes it seem where grandpa shows you all his pasta recipe's.

Maybe that's because he's too busy cooking cats.

(Looks at BlackLantern's avatar, drooling slightly)

People eat rabbits so why not cats? It's just that our society has arbitrarily decided that cats shouldn't be eaten. It's a cultural thing.

Yeah, also remember that in Europe cats used to be pests. You know those Disney cartoons where a cat goes into an alleyway that is already inhabited by 700 cats. Well that actually happened back then so cats were more useful as food.

I've never had cat, but I've had plenty of "taboo" food that is actually quite good.

Why is this a big deal? Different cultures eat different foods..no biggie

How is he an epic d-bag? Maybe that is his culture? Who made up the rules of what animals you're allowed to eat? So its okay to eat a cow, chicken, and pig...but cats are off limits for some strange reason. Unless you're a strict vegetarian or vegan you really shouldn't be talking because its just about the same thing

Chinese people back in the old days eat alot of weird foods, like dogs (), frogs, and snakes. Some may still eat them to this day. I can't stand it but different cultures do eat different things, and not just your staples of beef/pork/chicken/fish.

Btw, I do eat ducks and occasionally lambs/goats. Chinese cruisines make them taste really good, if you can find the right restaurant.

How is that  worthy?

Because different cultures taste in food is bad.

If Mr. Chef feels that way throwing out cooking instructions for law protected Domestic Pet's, maybe he can throw out a good way to prepare Long Pig.

Eating Domestic Pet's is not the same as eating farm animals.

maybe protected by law here in the States, but he was talking about Tuscany

I'm pretty sure eating domesticated animals is frowned upon in most countries anymore, at least the ones where your not riding a donkey to work. I don't care what his reasons are, it's pretty sick, and he deserves any comments he gets for mentioning it.

True in fact there is a fairly large movement to remove horse's from protection and allow them to be used for consumption.

I'm all for it. They taste good and are far far far healthier than beef. In addition it will make "Can I have a pony?" a really easy question for me to answer. :awesome:

Like Jack in the Box I take it?
