The best parts of E.T. is when Elliot and his friends/family have to save E.T. from the goverment. I don't know about you, but I look forward to those scenes. And I hate that on TV you have to wait like two hours for them. I know the channel has to air commericals, but c'mon don't turn a 1 hour and 45 minute movie into 3 hours! :csad:

Why not just buy the DVD instead?

I know how you feel. One commercial channel in Sweden have a bad habit of not only breaking movies for commercials, but also to have a 15-20 minute break for a news program in the middle of the movie. Personally I refuse to watch movies on that channel or any commercial channels.

I never, ever watch a movie on TV. Commercials ruin it.

Unless the movie is being shown on Turner Classic Movies. They save the commercials between the films, and even then it's only for their channel.

And the movies are shown in their OAR, or close to it

Yeah, but that's cable (In this country anyway...) so I won't count that as regular TV.

Ewww I never watch movies on TV, with the exception of HBO or other premium channels with no commercials.

Plus I have almost every movie imaginable on DVD so I don't really need the TV.

I can never watch a movie on a channel that runs commercials. One station used to take a break for the nightly news, 35 mins right in the middle of the movie, but I stick to movies on channels that wont take a break.

They used to be huge in the States. NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox all had nights where they would show movies and had great ratings. I was introduced to Indiana Jones and Back to the Future by watching their sequels on television as a child. Of course now I have Tivo so the commercials can be fast forwarded if I do watch movies on TV.

I watched E.T a few days ago on-line. I was so choked up. It was good to let it all out though...
