That's going to make over $200 million?
And Summit Entertainment is behind this film after Paramount had the rights. You guys remember all the classics from Summit Entertainment right?
Since LOTR and Harry Potter came out, every studio has been looking for the next big franchise from fantasy books. None have reached the box office or critical success as those films have. Most have bombed and been forgotten.
The internet may be focusing on Harry Potter vs. Twilight but that video didn't even mention what Twilight is up against.
November 21
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (conventional theaters and IMAX)
- The Soloist
November 26
- Bolt (Disney Digital 3-D)
- Four Christmases
- Humboldt Park
- Milk (limited; expands: Dec. 5; expands: Dec. 12)
- Transporter 3
December 5
- Frost/Nixon (limited; expands: Dec. 12; expands: Dec. 25)
- Punisher: War Zone
- Youth in Revolt (limited)
December 12
- The Day the Earth Stood Still
- Seven Pounds
- Twilight
December 19
- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
- The Tale of Despereaux
- Yes Man
Seven Pounds is another "Will Smith" drama so its going to get the majority of screens since its Will Smith. TDTESS is Fox's big winter blockbuster, no trailer has been seen but that too will likely do good business. The next week has Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt and Yes Man with Jim Carrey. Twilight will be crushed and their won't be any sequels. Tale of Despereaux is an animated fantasy family film from Universal, not "Summit Entertainment."
