TWO-FACE YEAR ONE #1
Written by Mark Sable
Art by Jesus Saiz & Jimmy Palmiotti
Cover by Mark Chiarello

In a time of corruption and greed, the only force keeping Gotham City from collapsing into utter chaos included Assistant District Attorney Harvey Dent, a cop named Jim Gordon, a vigilante known only as Batman -- and a mysterious group of untouchable crimefighters working outside the law. Be here to witness the beginning of a legacy, when a meeting between Gotham’s Finest and Gotham’s Vilest spawn the protectors who will safeguard Gotham’s future, as well as the monster who will try to burn it to the ground.

Don’t miss the start of this exciting 2-part miniseries featuring one of The Dark Knight’s most fearsome foes!

On sale July 16 • 1 of 2, 48 pg, Prestige Format, FC, $5.99 US

Looks interesting, I shall be getting this.

Though I do wish more writers would realise you can tell a great Two-Face story without having to revisit Harvey's disfigurement - whether it be through a flashback story or through having him be "cured" and rescarred.

Hmm... Interesting.

True! However, as memory serves me, there has never been a story covering his rise to power as DA. In Year One & The long Halloween he is just there. I wonder how much this will overlap and/or retcon that.

This has been done. It's called THE LONG HALLOWEEN. :)

^Precisely. Though I will probably pick this up just to see the interpretation. I wonder if it will tie into TDK's story a little more?

From what I'm reading it's going to be more of a Harvey Dent Year One and lead into TLH. But I could be wrong.

I'm also thinking this is more of a TDK tie-in. It's release timing is not a coincedence...

As shameless as this is I will be buying partly because "what the hell?" it could be interesting in it's own right. Mainly though it's cause I'm a ****e for the work of Jimmy Palmiotti that man has yet to ever fail me as a comics fan. The current Jonah Hex series is as great as it is in part due to his contributions. DC needs to stop playing around though and give this batmanite the series I've always been waiting for, HAROLD: YEAR ONE.

Two-face is great...i'd love a year one story. I'll be buying this for sure

Same here, all they seem to come up with is his scarring and unscarring stories and having him unscarred dosent very long at all.

Come on DC there has to be more for him then just that BS!

I'm getting this, last good Two Face story I read, was in GCPD.

Dent's scarring has been getting redundant over the years, but he's one of my favorite Batman villains so screw it, shameless TDK promotion or not.

I'm getting this. :o

Has the first meeting between Batman and Dent ever been written?

As I think about it, in Year One Gordon goes to question Dent and Batman is already in Dent's office, hiding behind his desk. Later, in TLH Gordon notes that Bats and Dent already know each other. So unless I'm missing something, it seems like there's a little window of time there that hasn't been covered yet.

If that's what this book is going to be, then I'd be pretty excited to read it.

they did these for Ra's and Scarecrow when Batman Begins came out. I wonder if they'll do a Joker one too...

Do you mean Joker-related comics to tie-in with the movie's release? I think that's the purpose of Batman Confidential and Joker's Asylum.

No, I mean a Joker: Year One. They did Ra's Al Ghul: Year One, and Scarecrow: Year One when Begins came out, and now they're doing Two-Face: Year One...so he's the only major villain from the movies they havent done/havent announced yet.

I'd love to see a Joker Year One

What's wrong with DC putting out comic book tie ins? I love it
I makes the movie experience bigger and I love any new comic book that features the Batman World:yay: so I'm all for any new Batman stuff

I wonder what they'd do with a Joker: Year One though. We already have several origin stories, and several accounts of Batman and the Jokers first meeting. They may have to do it like they did Ra's, and have it be a regular story with flashbacks...that would be cool. Have it be sort of akin to The Killing Joke, in that during the course of the story, we get Joker flashbacks...but they could be of several different possible origins, not just one. One could be the Killing Joke origin, one could be the Confidential origin, one could be the Alex Ross mobster origin, etc.

The Azzarello/Bermejo story should definitely be positioned as the "definitive Joker" companion to the movie. It's perfect for this.

Is it even going to be out by the time the movie is? And do we even know how much the Joker is going to be in it? All we know for sure is that it's told from the viewpoint of one of his henchmen, so really, we may only see him once per issue, if even.

The Man who Laughs is Joker's year one. Heck, even the latest Batman Confidential Joker origin could be considered a year one story, too.

My thoughts exactly. Whenever i see these movie related comic projects come out, and some fans dismiss them as "shameless tie ins", i cant help but scratch my head in bewilderment. I mean, dont they WANT to as you said, make the movie expierience bigger?

I remember Marvel got all kinds of flak from people when the first Blade and X-Men movies came out and there werent any comic related product to go along with them. Now both Marvel and DC go to great lengths to make SURE there is related product, and what happens? People give them all kinds of flak, lol. :whatever:

Comic fans: You GOTTA love 'em! :woot:

I don't know, on one hand I would like to get movie tie-in stuff but on the other hand it always has bad art and pretty bad writing.I mean have you seen Batman Begins comic? Batman has some ******ed goofy smile at the end.
