Ugly kid grows up to be rich and beautiful

Their is a character in Dan in Real Life who was, in high school, referred to as "pig face". When she is shown in the movie she has grown up to be very beautiful and rich.

Right before her introduction the family is all gathered around and singing a song about... 'pig face'. I could already see what was coming. The pig face girl would be beautiful.

I guess it's kind of a Hollywood cliche but I can't think of any movies that have it off the top of my head.

It's complete fantasy of course, unless she got plastic surgery, but it gives the character a sense of justice against those who belittled her as a child. This is ruined a few scenes later when she goes on a date with Dan Cook... whom made fun of her when they were younger.

Oh well... I found this subplot more intersting than the stalker-dan story.

she was also smart too. I think she became a plastic surgeon. So maybe her ugliness as a child made her turn to the books so she could be a doctor and then get her doctor friends to do some plastic surgery and BAM! She's hot. I saw the film too and I liked it.

 

[Nightmare]

I rented this movie, so once i read 'dan in real life' i stopped reading. But thanks for more anticipation.
