Just picked up the issue. Thought it was pretty intense. Artwork from Bagley was great as usual. It looks like Spider-woman is going to end up being the "good" Clone even though she beat down Peter. Commenting during the fight how he was really off on his fighting. Thought it was weird seeing her call him "tiger". Thought it was MJ for a second.

Gwen returned to Peter's old house. I'm wondering if Bendis will try something sought of like the Gwen that died was the Clone and this is the real Gwen now? Loving how Bendis is taking moments from the original Clone Saga and taking adding them into this with his own little twist like MJ being kidnapped by a Clone. Wondering if that could somehow be Scarlet Spider? That would be cool.

Anyway loving this freaking story so far. I'm one of the people that actually enjoyed the original clone saga when it first started. Thought it had some great moments so I don't have a bad taste in my mouth about Bendis putting it in the Ultimate universe.

Great cliffhanger, can't wait to see what happens next.

now i know why they never released the cover of 99...it gives away Gwen's return!

was spiderwoman bonded w/ a symbiote? i think she referred to herself as "we."

she didnt nesicarilly reffer to herself as we, I took it as meaning "myself, you, and the other clones that were made of you"

i doubt it
the only symbiote is Venom
and i think she meant "we" as in "her and Peter" or "the clones"

but does anyone else think its odd that she can fire webs from her finger like Pete was able to when he had the symbiote.

Guess people were right, she might be Peter Parker in female form. Creepy.

What's cool is that Bendis seemed to have left many of the scenes as cliffhangers...with the Spider-Woman, with Gwen, and with MJ locked up at Oscorp.

What a great start to this Clone Saga, two issues in and already better than it's 616 counterpart.

agreed.

Yea Riddle....I would also hate to see Bagley leave. :( .

Favorite artist ever so it's going to be a dark day when he finally decides to hang it up and move on to something else. Also thought the inking was much better over the last issue. Just felt a bit more consistent.

Heh really curious to see how Peter is going to handle this whole Gwen situation?

Those last couple of pages with MJ trapped were so creepy. Hmmm maybe the Peter Clone that kidnapped her is Ultimate Kaine? Remember his face was in the shadows so it could possibly be scarred up.

that did seem fishy, however, the only Ultimate symbiote so far is Venom
and he disappeared, so..
can't wait for Carnage's return in TWO issues!

i think bagley will stay on for a while (i hope :) ) but yah i also thot of kaine. also in 97 go thru the frames of m.j's room where u can see the kidnapper in the background. in one frame you see very hairy arms and big hands. this also made me think of kaine when i went back and saw it ( i also thot of tarantula tho. who knows):D

about gwen. i wonder if he will show her to aunt may:D i think that would be awesom seeing her reaction.

So is there any chance that Gwen is the real Gwen, and not a clone?

I was thinking today how in the issue where Gwen died, she was at the mall - remember? M.J. see's her and comments on how strange it was that she's at the mall. They talk and such, and later, Gwen dies.

Maybe this was a subtle hint that it wasn't actually Gwen? I dunno... maybe i'm just making too much out of nothing.

Don't forget she also was missing her key..
Gwen from 98, must have had a key to get into the house

Yeah... i had forgotten that.

But how and when would the switch have been made? Why clone Gwen, anyway? Why would the Gwen clone have come home then, but the Peter clones are just starting to appear now?

Ahhh... this is driving me nuts. I'm going to re-read that issue.

but... they did. JQ released an image and told everyone gwen was back...

Okay... so what if this is involved with some sort of time travel or something? Maybe Spider-Woman is actually Peter's daughter from the future, come to prevent whoever it is making these clones from doing so?

It would explain the advanced cloning stuff. Reed Richard's said it was "brilliant" - which suggests it's more advanced than anything he's seen. It would also give an alternate explanation to how Spider-Woman talks like Peter, but also used "tiger" - since she could be Peter & MJ's daughter.

She also says "I had to see this for real." - which could mean the fact that she's in the past, and that it would be "so creepy" if she were M.J. and that it was "awkward" that she was talking to Peter - which could go along with the fact that she's their daughter.

I dunno... just a thought.
