I just started reading comics a year ago, but only in the last week I've gotten into some Ultimates. I picked up Spidys TPB Vol 1, Extinction 1 - 4, Wolverine vs. Hulk 1 - 2, and the new issue of Ultimate Spider Man (the lure of Deadpool was too much). My only real question is is Marvel going to pull an infinte crisis type event and have these worlds merge or something to that extent? Just a random question, I'm probably going to pull a few other hundred questions of out the air as time going by, sorry for being so green.

They're not. They're going to keep the universes seperate. Which is a good thing, I think. Also, read The Ultimates by Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch. Best book of the entire Ultimate line.

Yeah the Ultimates is awesome.

Ultimate FF has its moments too

Get Ultimate X-Men as well, it's got some damn good arcs and if you like Colossus, then you'll enjoy this run. I'd have to agree that the Ultimates and Ultimate Spidey are definitely the top of the heap though.

Yeah Ultimates is the way to go

They dont even want the Exiles going to the Ultimate universe.

Lure-shmure. Ultimate Deadpool turned out to be a pathetic one-dimensional character... without a face I might add.

yeah, Ultimate Deadpool was terrible, unfortunately

I agree with the others you should definitely pick up Ultimates. Go with the Hardcover. It's the same price and you get bonus material.

Ultimate Wolverine v Hulk is shaping up.

I didn't think he was that terrible. He just suffered the same fate as many ultimized characters. They didn't do enough with him. He was two dimensional. The way he was set up, he as the potential to be a cool and rather in depth character. But, as of right now, he's just an ugly villain who makes bad jokes.

hate to say "i told you so"

Actually I don't but I don't have a link to my freakin "Ultimate Deadpool is going to suck" paranoia inducing thread so i'd rather just let you think about what we have learned.
I'm always right.
:D

Except when i'm wrong.

Don't read them before you get U.Nightmare and U.Secret. I doubt it would make much sense anyway.

Agreed. Ultimate Extinction is the third part of the Ultimate Galactus Trilogy. You don't NEED to read the others, but it would help.

Ultimates and Ultimate F4 are must reads for the UMU.

I read all of the Ultimate titles in HC and so far they have all been good, especially Ultimates and the start of Ultimate X-Men. Ultimate Spider-Man has been a bit slow moving but the only thing I haven't liked yet is the Carnage arc. Ultimate Fantastic Four has also been good, but so far it's the book I like the least. I'm looking forward to Millar's run, though which sounds like it should be really fun.

Hairless, I can tell you how to read a boatload of Ultimate Spider-Man books for really cheap, if you're interested
