I though I would just make a thread for fans of the Uncharted franchise.

Does anybody have any cool ideas for future adventures that they would like to see happen in this franchise?

I have always like the idea of something with Dinosaurs!!! I know very Jurassic Park of me but seriously there is almost always some sort of creature in these game which is like what the heck is that.

So why cant they bring Dinosaurs back.

Just a thought.

Naw man. That's been done before in Tomb Raider.

Plus, IMO, if they went in that direction, I would be done with the series.

I want them to come with something new to the gameplay, like what they're doing with The Last of Us, where a bunch of different situations can happen in the same enviroment depending on what we do.

But I'm sure they'll implement that into the next Uncharted, I just hope they come up with even more interesting features.

Yeah, I think if the next one comes out on the PS4, they will be able to add a ton of level variety without sacrificing anything. Not Open World, but at least some branching paths. TLoU is showing a lot of promise and I agree that they should take some of that and add it to the Uncharted formula.

I love uncharted. I love dinosaurs. But the two together... I dunno. Doesn't sit right with me. The thing about the supernatural stuff in uncharted is that nothing really is what it seems, and dinosaurs are just *too* on the nose.

I wouldn't mind there being a dinosaur-related object or theme, but I don't want to be chased by any.

I don't really care what the theme or setting is. I would like to see a much greater focus on exploration and puzzle-solving, improve the shooting and platforming, make it a lot less linear and scripted. I might get back on board with Uncharted if they did all that.

Just make it fun, and I'm in!

I get all the wishlists for exploration etc, I do. But, for me, if Uncharted 4 was just another linear, set-piece driven thrill ride I'd be more than happy.

But that's just me - sure, I'd like the other stuff too.

Yeah, the linear nature never bothered me because the game is just so good that I never really feels linear to me, unlike games like call of duty.

Yeah, if you mess with it's formula too much, then it won't be Uncharted. Set pieces and the linear path are big pieces of that formula. I want what TLoU seems to offer. Get to a location and give various paths to complete it. Give me options like that, keep everything the same, and I will be very happy.

I'd be interested to see what ND could do with a miniature adventure, a downloadable mini-title on the PSN. R&C: Quest for Booty would be the basis. Maybe 3-4 hours of gameplay, for a smaller price. Just to enchance the story a little bit, maybe a mini-prequel featuring Harry Flynn and Drake, exploring there relationship prior to U2. Could be interesting.

Of course, I want another Vita title too. Golden Abyss far exceeded my expectations.

I like the idea of a mini game. Maybe set around the time after Drake first met Sully. I love that part of Deception. .

Also I agree with you about Golden Abyss I am glad a coughed up to cash to by a Vita after playing this.

Yeah, I'm down with that.

Though, to be fair, I think the stealth element in Uncharted 1 + 2 was a really underrated aspect of the games. If you played around with the battles you could usually take out around half of the enemies in an area before getting spotted. Playing around like that gave those two a lot of replay value for me.

There are a couple of areas like that in U3 but for the most part the game seems much more determined to get you into a firefight.

Yeah that's something I really enjoyed about these games. I would always try take out as many enemy's as possible using the stealth moves before getting caught and having to unleash an AK on the fools.

FULLY agree with that. A lot of people whom I've heard had issues with the games seem to think that it is nothing but a straight up shooter - that getting as many stealth kills as you can isn't even an option ("You can DO that?!" is a common response). I recently beat the trilogy on Crushing and I don't think I could have done that without getting as many stealth kills as a possibly could.

Uncharted 2 had some moments like that as well, but they were cheap about it. For instance, when you have to clear out the top of the cliff after climbing up the train, I killed everyone without being spotted. No one was around, I even made sure by exploring the area afterwards. But there's apparently a second wave of enemies that they WANT you to fight, so if you try to skip it by stealth killing the first group, you die when you try to leave the area (they'll play an animation where a merc jumps out from no where and shoots you). You shouldn't be penalized like that.

Yea i agree with the line of thinking that they dont need to change the formula too much. They dont need to go away from the more linear path thats been set up in the past 3 games.

Naughty Dog has my money until they stop making games starring Nathan Drake. The 3 previous titles are some of the best things to happen this generation.

I would like to see a much more personal journey for Nate next outing though. I want something that sends him on an adventure that he really didn't anticipate going on. Maybe have Elena kidnapped and he's forced to work with some shadowy org or something along those lines. Id like to see ND really take Drake away from his comfort level. A type of scenario that would make Drake crack a wisecrack only to mask his fear as to what the situation really holds. I thought Drakes Deception had a little of that and id really like them to expand on that. I really wanna see Drake taken through the wringer, both emotionally and physically. One of my absolute favorite scenes in ANY form of media ever was the scene where Drake and Elena meet up after Drake washes up on shore in Drakes Deception. The scene where they are in her hotel room and he ends up passing out on her lap. It was just a really great scene and imo, the first time Drake really felt human. ND has it in them to deliver a story the likes the industry hasn't yet seen. I hope they can do that in the next Uncharted adventure.

I'm really looking forward to the next installment. Uncharted was one of the reasons I bought PS3.

I do like the idea of having multiple paths lead to the same place. Gives a lot more replay value to the SP (which I play much more than the MP)

In terms of story, I think that DD was very personal. However, I dont know where to go next in terms of what to look for, what kind of villain, etc. I wanna see a big city be at least one chapter like Shanghai or something. And I want the whole crew (Elena, Sully, Chloe, Cutter) in for a majority of the game. No one bowing out.

Im wondering though what nate will survive next lol. Car crashes (i think about every game, train crash, boat sinking, plane crashing. He's gone through land, sea and air.

Well, there's only one thing left for him, really.

Man, that'd be awesome.

One thing I hope we don't see is to have yet another "get out of the rapidly crumbling city" finale. Don't get me wrong, they were epic, but I feel that from a gameplay stand point its kinda lazy to end each game the same way.

Another thing that bugs me about the games is how Drake pretty much uncovers millions if not billions of dollars worth of artifacts and undiscovered temples/ruins and there is no mention of the importance of this fact. I get that he's always focused on finding the macguffin, but just once I'd like to see them at least lament the fact that they can't claim discovery due to varying factors (ie: being in the country illegally), or even mention anonymously giving the findings/locations to a university or something. It doesn't have to be a whole scene, just as much as a single comment. I dunno, its the one thing that hinders the story for me.

i'd like to see it set in maybe china..with its fantastic architecture and dragons and myths and legends, its levels of hell etc etc...
the triads could be part of the enemy..cos theres always a large herd of baddies to shoot.
and i'd like to play as sully...maybe in a flashback sequence.

Dragons!! I like it.

That's not a bad idea. It'd be cool to play as a younger Sully, perhaps the story could be about a job he never finished...your "past coming back to haunt you" sorta thing. Regardless, I want him to have a bigger role, love his character.

Here is a few things I would like from future games (story wise)

Obviously the titles are made up by me and not what I would want them to be called but more just a way to get my ideas across. These are not story ideas more time frame ideas.

I'll list these in continuity order.

Uncharted: Young Drake.
This would be a game that follows on from the scene in Drakes Deception where you play through the flashback with young drake meeting Sully. Personally if they did this for the next game I would be happy. This would show the more of the building of Nathan and Sullys relationship etc. I had an idea that the time frame of this game could span the length in time between the scene in uncharted 3 and the beginning of Drakes Fortune. I don't mean an adventure that lasts for all those years but maybe it could show how Drake is looking for the coffin of Sir Frances as a young Drake then towards then end it could jump forward to a little bit before Drakes Fortune.

Uncharted: Drakes Fortune

Uncharted 2: Among Theives.

Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception

A couple of Miscellaneous Drake adventures as we have had before.

Uncharted: New Beginning.
Now this would be not any time soon but Sully and Drake are not getting any older so I think a great plot could have a game that is the end of Sully!! (I know sacrilegious) but being realistic he cant go on forever. So my idea for this would be some sort of adventure as per normal but with Sully either retiring or worse :-(. Also maybe a new main side character could be introduced in the form of a young adventurer that would then moving forward be what Drake was to Sully in the early days.

Some more miscellaneous Drake stories including the new sidekick to Drake.

Then way down the line maybe an Uncharted: Beyond game in which Drake is now about the age Sully was in Drakes Fortune and the final game in which Nathan is the main character.
