This is interesting. Very, very interesting.

Microsoft Game Studios has signed up for an exclusive Xbox Live Arcade title from Undead Labs codenamed Class3. There is no release date in sight currently for the game, but the title has zombies in it, so when you hear undead moans, you'll know it's coming.

Developer Undead Labs is billing the third-person action title as an open-world zombie title where players choices – like where and with what to fortify a settlement – will affect what happens later in the game. Class3 also features drivable vehicles, melee combat, lots of gore, rescuing survivors, foraging, and more. The game will have two-player online co-op and splitscreen play.

Undead Labs hopes that Class3 is just the beginning, and wants to use the game as a stepping stone to a full-fledged Xbox Live MMO that it is already planning under the moniker Class4.

This is dang near everything I ever wanted in a Zombie MMO. I really hope we get more than just two player online co-op as it gets further on in it's development.

Wow, thats REALLY intriguing. Deff gotta keep an eye on that.

Hopefully it won't be very goofy. I enjoy the sillier side of zombie fiction too, but I've always wanted a "serious" zombie game; something more akin to The Walking Dead or World War Z than Resident Evil and Dead Rising.

I've wanted a serious World War Z game for quite sometime. Or at least set it in that universe... maybe even be in the Battle of Yonkers.

I wouldnt put RE and Dead Rising in the same category. I still have yet to see any other media create a better zombie than the REmake. Those are how ALL zombies should be portrayed.

I think Resident Evil and Dead Rising are equally as silly, just in different ways. Resident Evil perhaps moreso because it takes itself so seriously.

Though I agree REmake is a really great game. One of my favorites.

You cant stick a frying pan to a zombies face in Resident Evil. I dont see anything silly in the REmake, other than some of the dialog that got carried over from the orig game, but thats it. The scenario, the creatures, there is nothing Dead Rising about it. Just read Lisa Trevors diary in the REmake. It will make your skin crawl, nothing even remotely similar happens in DR. More games featuring zombies need to take the tone of the REmake.

REmake is one of my favorite zombie games of all time, the silly factor that was in the game the first (even though it wasn't silly then)time around was gone. It was seriously a creepy game.

I agree with you about Lisa Trevors diary... and Lisa Trevor as a whole. Also, the bloody shark tank in the REmake was beyond terrifying for me as I'm both scared to death and in awe of sharks.

Dead Rising is corny, I didn't care for either of those games. Yeah, I was impressed with the amount of Zombies on screen but... meh.

I'm still holding out hope for an REmake of RE2. I want that more than a FFVII remake.

I agree, i couldnt get into Dead Rising because of all the ridiculous stuff you could do, and no game has scared me the way the REmake has. I can agree that the whole, overall concept of RE is outlandish, but you could almost make that argument with every single game. Compared to other titles featuring monsters and zombies, RE is fairly serious.

I have heard about this too, sounds like it could be incredible if they pull it off!

so I guess this game is what is now announced as state of decay?
