Andrew Garfield is attached to star in Under the Silver Lake, a crime thriller that is written and will be directed by David Robert Mitchell, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed horror hit It Follows.

Michael De Luca is producing under his Michael De Luca Productions banner. Chris Bender and Jake Weiner as well as Adele Romanski are producing as well.

Details are being kept locked in the trunk of the car but, it is described as a modern-day noir crime thriller set in Los Angeles.

Production is set to start end of summer with Insiders handling international distribution.
It Follows wasn't as great as I was expecting it to be, but I'm here for this.

We shall see if he's a one-trick pony.

I'll agree with the climax, it could have been better

I loved the score, if that's any consolation. :o

I agree with the criticism that there were too many rules with It.

Others can't see it. It only walks. If it catches you, you die. And somehow it can get electrocuted...

Well, the first three are fine. That last one....

Like I said, that whole pool scene was the only problem I have with the film.

The climax is really my only narrative issue. I think my big thing was just that I expected it to be something it wasn't. I was expecting a little more 80s horror throwback than I ended up getting. Watching it again with my expectations in check could produce different results.

Getting back to the movie at hand, though, I'll be interested to see how he approaches noir.

God I love It Follows.

Like the film or not, isnt that your fault verses the film?

BTW, I didn't know that Emma Stone broke up with Garfield. Poor guy.

Anyway, the good news is that the movie starts production this Summer, and was picked up by A24.

I loved It Follows. but I saw it under the best circumstances; knowing nothing about it, alone, late showing, in a virtually empty theater. plus, I grew up watching 70s and 80s horror movies. it hit all of the right notes. and when people complain about the rules, they are ignoring that the narrator of said rules was unreliable. all of it is easily explained as date rape guy not really knowing what was coming after him. he just wanted to pass the curse along and run back to his parents.

Surprised I've heard absolutely nothing about this in awhile.

Not surprising considering it's by A24.

I enjoyed IT Follows, one of the best horror films in recent memory and this should be a nice follow up.

Looks way more humorous than I had anticipated. I'm intrigued.

Under The Silver Lake

I saw the trailer and got the script.

Script is pretty good, but don't know if that will translate well into the big screen. I have a hunch a few female bloggers/critics will hate this tho. This read like a ''Dude bro Inherent Vice'', if that makes any sense. I dug it, but probably for all the wrong reasons.
