The teaser poster for undertone wants to be heard ahead of tomorrow’s trailer drop.

The slow-burn horror film premiered at last year’s Fantasia Film Festival, igniting a seven-figure bidding war from which A24 emerged victorious.

Nina Kiri (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) stars as the only on-screen character; a paranormal podcast host who moves into her dying mother’s house to be her primary caregiver.

When she receives audio recordings of a young pregnant couple experiencing supernatural noises, she realizes the woman’s story mirrors her own. Each new recording scratches at her sanity, drawing her into a fate she cannot escape.

Writer-director Ian Tuason makes his feature debut on the Canadian production, leading to a gig helming the upcoming Paranormal Activity reboot.

Kris Holden-Ried (“The Umbrella Academy”), Michèle Duquet (The Virgin Suicides), Keana Lyn Bastidas (“The Hardy Boys”), and Jeff Yung (The Shrouds) lend their voices to the movie.

I watched this a few days ago. Looks very familiar, but I like the way that the trailer is put together and it does feel like it'd be a good watch in the cinema.
