What are some actors, actresses, or movies that you feel didn't really deserve to win the Oscars they got?

Not to say that they weren't good, but just not good enough to where they were "Oscarworthy".

I think Marisa Tomei heads that list.

There are many films that didn't get bast pic nods I believe should have that might be a better thread.

Crash, Crash, Crash, a decent movie I think, but damn, was Brokeback Mountain a better movie.

A lot of comedies are snubbed every year even though some have better acting, better writing, and a better plot than some nominees.

Somehow Tommy Lee Jones(The Fugitive) won over Ralph Fiennes(Schindler's List) back in '94.

Slumdog millionare for cinematography, i just feel that there were better looking films last year.

ok i'm just going to go ahead and say slumdog for anything it one, in every category there were better films that IMHO were better in those respects. I found The Wrestler much more emotionally gripping and realistic than Slumdog.

or we could just say that oscars are not fair.

a good example Slumdog millionare for cinematography. yeah yeah yeah its voted. vote my ass.

As much as I like the movie, I don't think Chicago deserved some of it's wins.

Slumdog MIllionaire comes to mind. I still believe it must have had subliminal messages.

Halle Berry. Just how did she do it? Cause she's never given an oscar-worthy performance since then. Damn sure didn't add much to the X-Men films.

And that was a pretty good year for that category too. Halle Berry wins and Naomi Watts isnt even nominated?

Totally random but I find it hilarious anytime I think of Halle Berry's skills as an actress. In The Last Stand when Rogue is talking about the cure, then Halle says something like "...because nothing is wrong with any of us for that matter.." watch her eyes after she says that, I laugh everytime. It's like *wandering eyes at different actors in room...oh s*** don't look at the camera...look back at Professor X* annndd scene.

Someone oughta give me a gold star.

Julia Roberts Wins over Ellen Burstyn. How the hell did that happen. :(

How did "I Just Called To Say I Love You" beat out "Ghostbusters" for best song? In fact, how the hell did "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" win an Oscar?

I mean...really? REALLY?

There are so many undeserving winners.

Forrest Gump (Pulp Fiction should have won Best Actor, Director and Picture that went to Gump)
The English Patient (Fargo should have taken best picture!)
Shakespeare In Love (How the hell this beat Saving Private Ryan is beyond me)
The Departed (Great film, don't get me wrong, but Children Of Men deserved it - and it wasn't even NOMINATED)
Everything in 2008's Best Picture Category (Look back, one year on, and tell me The Dark Knight doesn't hold up against EVERY film in the category)

The bad thing about the 2008 best picture category wasnt that The Dark Knight was snubbed. Better films has been snubbed. The bad thing was that TDK, The Wrestler, AND Wall-E was ignored, and The Reader(a film that wasnt even liked by critics) got nominated.
