Brolin and Hopkins Join Allen's New London Film

Woody Allen has set Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins to star in the film he wrote and will shoot in London this summer, reports Variety.

Brolin and Hopkins are the first in an ensemble cast. As usual, Allen is keeping title and plot under wraps.

The film will be financed by Spain-based Mediapro, which provided money for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Letty Aronson and Steve Tenenbaum are producing.

There is no domestic distributor yet on Allen's upcoming film. He made a recent deal with Sony Pictures Classics for U.S. distribution on Whatever Works.

Naomi Watts Joins Woody Allen's Latest

Naomi Watts is joining Woody Allen's latest film, starring alongside Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins, reports Variety.

Mediapro, the Spain-based company behind Vicky Cristina Barcelona, is financing the as-yet-untitled pic, which will be produced by Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures.

Allen's next film, Whatever Works, will be released by Sony Pictures Classics on June 19.

'Slumdog' actress Freida Pinto also added

Freida Pinto will follow up her performance in the Oscar-winning "Slumdog Millionaire" with a role in Woody Allen's latest project.

This year's Cinderella at the Oscar ball will join the long list of Allen's muses as she takes on the ingenue role in the helmer's still-untitled pic.

Pinto, who has become one of the most pursued thesps since her breakout performance in "Slumdog," signed with CAA in November and began mulling projects. Allen's film will mark the first post-"Slumdog" pic for the Indian-born model-turned-actress.

I loved 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' and this has an interesting cast shaping up.

I'm warily hopeful about this one. Allen's latest (other than Match Point and Vicki Cristina Barcellona) have been weak sauce. The one I'm totally off-the-wall psyched for is his Whatever Works with God himself, Larry David. That is gonna be classic... I hope...

I need to watch Vicki Cristina Barcellona. With Cruz winning supporting actress, I'm now intrigued. Also, this cast for the next Woody Allen movie looks interesting.

Vicki Cristina Barcelona was a massive step up from Allen's last few films, and the cast for this is very impressive. High hopes that Allen may be trying to re-touch his previous form before bowing out.

Antonio Banderas Also Joins Woody Allen's Latest

Woody Allen has hired Antonio Banderas for his untitled project. He'll be joining Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts and Freida Pinto in the pic.

Allen's new film is scheduled to start shooting in London in the summer.

Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures are producing, with financing from the Spain-based Mediapro, which also funded Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

That sounds like a good cast. Several established stars such as Brolin, Hopkins, Watts and Banderas and a rising star like Pinto.
